Management of a case with acute brucellosis and deep vein thrombosis

Abstract

Many risk factors have been defined in the etiology of acute deep vein thrombosis. Cases associated with acute deep vein thrombosis and community-acquired infection have been reported in the literature. However, the literature on acute brucellosis-associated deep vein thrombosis is limited. A 36-year-old male patient dealing with farming and animal husbandry was applied to our clinic with a history of pain and swelling in the left leg for ten days. The patient was diagnosed with acute deep-vein thrombosis. A diagnosis of acute brucellosis was also made in the further investigation performed as a result of the patient's fever. With the treatment of brucellosis and acute deep vein thrombosis, the patient completely recovered.

Akut bruselloz ve derin ven trombozu birlikteliği olan bir olgunun yönetimi

Abstract

Akut derin ven trombozu etyolojisinde birçok risk faktörü tanımlanmıştır. Akut derin ven trombozu ve toplum kökenli enfeksiyon birlikteliği olan vakalar literatürde bildirilmiştir. Ancak akut bruselloz ilişkili derin ven trombozu konusunda literatür bilgisi sınırlıdır. 36 yaşında çiftçilik ve hayvancılıkla uğraşan erkek hasta kliniğimize sol bacakta on gündür ağrı ve şişlik öyküsü şikayeti ile başvurdu. Hastaya akut derin ven trombozu tanısı konuldu. Hastanın ateşi olması sonucu yapılan ileri araştırmada akut bruselloz tanısı da kondu. Bruselloz ve akut derin ven trombozu tedavisi ile hasta tamamen iyileşti.
