Abstract

Düşme
ve düşmeye bağlı yaralanmaların özellikle yaşlı kişilerde ciddi morbidite ve
mortaliteye neden olduğu bilinmektedir. 
Özellikle hastaneler, yatan hastalar için yeni ve alışık olmadıkları bir
ortam olması ve fiziksel ve çevresel tehlikeler içermesi nedeniyle düşme
riskinin yüksek olduğu yerlerdir. Sağlık çalışanları olarak “Düşeni kurtarabilir miyiz?” sorusunun
cevabını ilk olarak yine hastane içi düşmelerde aramalıyız ve buradan yola
çıkarak genele yönelik çıkarımlarımızı yapmalıyız.
