Öğrenme İçerik Yönetim Sistemi İle Örnek Bir Dersin Uygulaması ve Öğrencilerin Akademik Başarılarına Etkisi

Abstract

Bu çalışmada Öğrenme İçerik Yönetim Sistem’lerinin öğrencilerin ders başarıları üzerindeki etkisi
belirlenmeye çalışılmıştır. Bu kapsamda İçerik Yönetim Sistem’lerinden Joomla 3.2 versiyonu
kullanılarak web tabanlı bir Öğrenme İçerik Yönetim Sistemi uygulaması tasarlanmıştır. Tasarlanan
Öğrenme İçerik Yönetim Sistemi uygulaması Windows 2008 sunucu işletim sistemi üzerine kurularak
öğrencilerin Thin Client bilgisayardan oluşan bilişim teknolojileri sınıfından erişimleri sağlanmıştır.
Çalışmanın örneklemini oluşturmak için Siirt Meslek Yüksekokulu’nda Bilgisayarlı Büro Programları
dersini alan 250 öğrenciye dönem başında 40 sorudan oluşan bir hazırbulunuşluk testi uygulanmıştır.
Hazırbulunuşluk testi sonuçları istatistiksel olarak SPSS 21 programına aktarılarak kümeleme analizi
yöntemiyle 63 öğrenci deney grubuna, 62 öğrenci de kontrol grubuna rastgele seçilerek hazırlanan
sistem 9 hafta boyunca uygulanmıştır. Hazırbulunuşluk Testi, Akademik Başarı Testi, Ön Test ve Son
Test sınavları veri toplama aracı olarak kullanılmıştır. Oluşturulan Öğrenme İçerik Yönetim
Sistemi’nin içeriği (ders videoları, elektronik çalışma kitapları, görseller, çevrimiçi testler) dönem
başında hazırlanan hazırbulunuşluk testi sonuçları dikkate alınarak öğrencilerin hazırbulunuşluk
seviyelerine göre geliştirilip tasarlanmıştır. Bu kapsamda öğrencilerin “Bilgisayarlı Büro
Programları” dersi için, öğrencilerin hazırbulunuşluk düzeylerine göre tasarlanan web tabanlı
Öğrenme İçerik Yönetim Sistemi ile geleneksek öğrenme ortamı arasındaki ders başarıları arasında
farklılık olup olmadığının belirlenmesi amaçlanmıştır. Verilerin çözümlenmesinde T-Test ve OneWay
ANOVA (İlişkisiz örneklemler için tek faktörlü varyans analizi) bulguları analiz edildiğinde
deney ve kontrol gruplarının başarı ortalamaları arasında anlamlı bir farklılık olduğu tespit
edilmiştir.

Application of a Case Course with Learning Content Management System and Its Effect on the Academic Success of Students

Abstract

In this research, effect of Learning Content Management Systems on the academic success of students
is tried to be determined. Within this context, one of the Content Management Systems, Joomla 3.2
was used to design a Content Management System application. Designed Content Management
System application was installed on Windows 2008 Server operating system and students were
provided Access at computing Technologies class which consists of Thin Client computers. A
readiness test which consists of 40 questions was applied to 250 students who are enrolled in
Computerized Office Programs course at Siirt Vocational School to establish the sample for the study.
Results of the readiness test have been transferred to SPSS 21 program statistically and 63 students
were randomly selected to the experiment group and 62 students were randomly selected to the
control group by using cluster analysis model, and the system was applied for 9 weeks. Readiness
Test, Academic Success Test, Pre-Test and Final Test exams were used as tools to collect data.
Learning Content Management System’s content (course videos, electronic study books, visuals,
online tests) was developed and designed according to the readiness levels of the students depending
on the results of the readiness tests applied. Within this context, it was aimed to determine whether
there is a difference between the course success of the students for “Computerized Office Programs”,
comparing with web-based Learning Content Management System and the traditional learning
environment or not. T-Test and One-Way ANOVA (Single factored variance analysis for unrelated
samples) findings were analyzed
