Development of Functional Flocked Upholstery Fabric Which Changes Color with UV Using Foam Application Technique

Abstract

UV Photochromic dyes, which change color with UV, are generally disperse dye based in structure, and the most important problem in their application is that they are difficult to apply due to inadequate affinity. For this reason, in this study, application of photochromic dyes to flocked upholstery fabrics with foam application technique was studied. In the dyeing experiments with photochromic dyes, it was observed that fabric samples changed color significantly under different light sources. After the application, 3 different processes were tried as fixation method and it was determined that the highest color yield was obtained after dry heat fixing after drying. On the other hand, it was observed that washing and rubbing fastness values can be obtained at very good levels in the dyeings carried out according to all three fixing methods.

Köpüklü Aplikasyon Tekniği Kullanilarak UV ile Renk Değiştiren Fonksiyonel Floklu Döşemelik Kumaş Geliştirilmesi

Abstract

UV ile renk değiştiren fotokromik boyalar yapı olarak genelde dispers boya esaslı olup, bunların aplikasyonunda yaşanan en temel sorun yetersiz afinite nedeniyle çektirme yöntemine göre aplikasyonlarının güç olmasıdır. Bu nedenle, bu çalışmada fotokromik boyaların köpükle aplikasyon tekniği ile floklu döşemelik kumaşlara aplikasyonu üzerinde çalışılmıştır. Fotokromik boyarmadde ile yapılan boyama denemelerinde kumaş numunelerinin farklı ışık kaynakları altında belirgin şekilde renk değiştirdiği görülmüştür. Aplikasyon sonrası fiksaj yöntemi olarak 3 farklı proses denenmiş olup, en yüksek renk veriminin kurutma sonrası kuru ısı fiksajı yapılması durumunda elde edildiği tespit edilmiştir. Öte yandan her üç fiksaj yöntemine göre yapılan boyamalarda da oldukça iyi seviyelerde yıkama ve sürtme haslıkları elde edilebildiği görülmüştür.
