İNGİLİZCE MİZAH METİNLERİNİN 9. SINIF ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN İNGİLİZCE DERSİNE YÖNELİK TUTUMLARINA ETKİSİNİN İNCELENMESİ

Abstract

Bu
çalışmanın amacı, İngilizce dil öğretiminde 9. sınıf öğrencilerine İngilizce
mizah içerikli metinler okutarak onların İngilizce dersine yönelik tutumları
ile mizah içerikli ders materyalleri arasında anlamlı bir etkinin olup
olmadığını, cinsiyet farklılığı ve okul türleri değişkenlerini göz önünde
tutarak belirlemektir. Bu hedef doğrultusunda araştırma için ön test-son test
denkleştirilmemiş kontrol gruplu yarı deneysel model kullanılmıştır. Deney
grupları için her hafta bir ders saati süresince İngilizce mizah içerikli
metinler ile okuma etkinliği gerçekleştirilirken, kontrol gruplarının derslerine
herhangi bir müdahalede bulunulmamıştır. Araştırma sonunda mizah içerikli
metinlerin öğrencilerin İngilizce dersine yönelik tutumlarının etkisine
bakıldığında devlet okulu deney grubunun, özel okul deney grubuna göre
İngilizce dersine yönelik tutumlarında anlamlı bir farklılık olduğu sonucuna
ulaşılmıştır. Kadın öğrencilerin erkek öğrencilere göre derse yönelik
tutumlarının daha olumlu olduğu sonucu elde edilmiştir. Elde edilen bulgular
çerçevesinde, İngilizce mizah içerikli metinlerin, 9. sınıf öğrencilerinin
İngilizce dersine yönelik tutumlarında önemli bir etki yaratabileceği sonucuna
varılmıştır.
