Aim and Scope
Eurasian Journal of Molecular and Biochemical Sciences (Eurasian Mol Biochem Sci) provides high-quality, comprehensive coverage in all molecular biology and medical studies. The Eurasian Mol Biochem Sci aims to publish original research papers, short communications, preliminary scientific reports, letters to the editor, and reviews in all molecular biology and medical fields. The journal encourages the submission of multidisciplinary studies that use complementary experimental and computational approaches to address challenging biological and medical questions.

Introduction

Eurasian Journal of Molecular and Biochemical Sciences (Eurasian Mol Biochem Sci) is national and international, scientific, open access, and periodically published by a double-blind peer-review process. The journal is the official publication of Erzurum Technical University Faculty of science and published biannually in March and September. The publication language of the journal is English.

The Eurasian Mol Biochem Sci aims to publish original research papers, short communications, preliminary scientific reports, letters to the editor, and reviews in all molecular biology and medical fields.

Articles are not limited in length, but the editors recommend that they should be no longer than 15 printed pages with no more than 10 figures and 4 tables in most cases.

Eurasian Journal of Molecular and Biochemical Sciences is an Open Access journal, which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. This is in accordance with the BOAI definition of Open Access.

Editorial and Publication Process

The editorial and publication processes of the journal are shaped in accordance with the guidelines of the International Council of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE), the World Association of Medical Editors (WAME), the Council of Science Editors (CSE), the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE), the European Association of Science Editors (EASE), and National Information Standards Organization (NISO). The journal conforms to the Principles of Transparency and Best Practice in Scholarly Publishing (doaj.org/bestpractice).

Peer Review Process

Manuscripts submitted to the Eurasian Journal of Molecular and Biochemical Sciences will go through a double-blind peer-review process. Each submission will be reviewed by at least two external, independent peer reviewers who are experts in their fields to ensure an unbiased evaluation process. The editorial board will invite an external and independent editor to manage the evaluation processes of manuscripts submitted by editors or by the journal's editorial board members. The Editor in Chief is the final authority in the decision-making process for all submissions.

Ethics in publishing

An approval of research protocols by the Ethics Committee in accordance with international agreements (World Medical Association Declaration of Helsinki “Ethical Principles for Medical Research Involving Human Subjects,” amended in October 2013, www.wma.net) is required for experimental, clinical, and drug studies. If required, ethics committee reports or an equivalent official document will be requested from the authors. For manuscripts concerning experimental research on humans, a statement should be included that shows that written informed consent of patients and volunteers was obtained following a detailed explanation of the procedures they may undergo. For studies carried out on animals, the measures taken to prevent pain and suffering of the animals should be stated clearly. Information on patient consent, the name of the ethics committee, and the ethics committee approval number must also be stated in the Materials and Methods section of the manuscript.

Plagiarism

Eurasian Journal of Molecular and Biochemical Sciences is extremely sensitive about plagiarism. The corresponding author must upload the article's similarity report to the journal's online system. Also, all submissions are screened by a similarity detection software (iThenticate by CrossCheck) at any point during the peer-review and/or production process. Even if you are the author of the phrases or sentences, the text should not have unacceptable similarities with the previously published data.

In the event of alleged or suspected research misconduct, e.g., plagiarism, citation manipulation, and data falsification/fabrication, the Editorial Board will follow and act following COPE guidelines.

Language

Please write your text in good English (American or British usage is accepted, but not a mixture of these). Authors who feel their English language manuscript may require editing to eliminate possible grammatical or spelling errors and conform to correct scientific English may wish to use the English Language Editing services.

Duplicate Submission & Redundant Publication

Submitting the same study simultaneously to multiple journals is strictly prohibited; previously published studies or those under review in another journal will not be considered. If any part of the study has been previously published, this must be explicitly stated, and an appropriate citation must be provided. The reuse of previously published data or text is only possible with proper citation and editor approval.

Submission

Our online submission system guides you stepwise through the process of entering your article details and uploading your files. The system converts your article files to a single PDF file used in the peer-review process. Editable files (e.g., Word) are required to typeset your article for final publication. All correspondence, including notification of the Editor's decision and requests for revision, is sent by email.

Authorship and Author Responsibilities

All authors should have made substantial contributions to all of the following: (1) the conception and design of the study, or acquisition of data, or analysis and interpretation of data, (2) drafting the article or revising it critically for important intellectual content, (3) final approval of the version to be submitted.

Author Contribution

In order to provide appropriate credit to all authors and assign responsibility and accountability for published work, individual contributions should be specified as an Author Contributions statement. The Author Contributions Statement is mandatory in the main text after the discussion. It should represent all the authors and is to be included upon submission. It can be up to several sentences long and should briefly describe the tasks of individual authors. Please list only 2 initials for each author, without full stops, but separated by commas (e.g. JC, JS). Please see an example here:

“AB, CDE, and FG contributed to the conception and design of the study. AB organized the database. CDE performed the statistical analysis. FG wrote the first draft of the manuscript. GH, IJ, AB, and FG wrote sections of the manuscript. All authors contributed to manuscript revision, read, and approved the submitted version”.

Changes to authorship

Authors are expected to carefully consider the list and order of authors before submitting their manuscript and provide the definitive list of authors at the time of the original submission. Any addition, deletion, or rearrangement of author names in the authorship list should be made only before the manuscript has been accepted and only if approved by the journal Editor. To request such a change, the Editor must receive the following from the corresponding author: (a) the reason for the change in the author list and (b) written confirmation (email, letter) from all authors that they agree with the addition, removal, or rearrangement. In the case of adding or removing authors, this includes confirmation from the author being added or removed.

The Editor will only consider the addition, deletion, or rearrangement of authors in exceptional circumstances after the manuscript has been accepted. While the Editor considers the request, publication of the manuscript will be suspended. If the manuscript has already been published in an online issue, any requests approved by the Editor will result in a corrigendum.

Declaration of Interest

Eurasian Journal of Molecular and Biochemical Sciences requires and encourages the authors and the individuals involved in the evaluation process of submitted manuscripts to disclose any existing or potential conflicts of interest, including financial, consultant, and institutional, that might lead to potential bias or a conflict of interest. Any financial grants or other support received for a submitted study from individuals or institutions should be disclosed to the Editorial Board. The journal’s Editorial Board resolves cases of a potential conflict of interest of the editors, authors, or reviewers within the scope of COPE and ICMJE guidelines.

Appeals and Complaints

The Editorial Board of the journal handles all appeals and complaint cases within the scope of COPE guidelines. In such cases, authors should contact the editorial office directly regarding their appeals and complaints. When needed, an ombudsperson may be assigned to resolve claims that cannot be resolved internally. The Editor in Chief is the final authority in the decision-making process for all appeals and complaints.

The statement should be provided as a separate section (titled 'Declaration of interest') at the end of the main text, before the 'References' section.

Statements or opinions expressed in the manuscripts published in the Eurasian Journal of Medicine reflect the views of the author(s) and not the views of the editors, the editorial board, or the publisher; the editors, the editorial board, and the publisher disclaim any responsibility or liability for such materials. The final responsibility regarding the published content rests with the authors.

Manuscript Preparation

1- The manuscripts submitted for publication should be prepared in Times New Roman style format, font size 12, A4 paper size, 1.5 line spacing, and 2.5 cm margins of all edges. The legend or caption of all illustrations, such as figures and tables, and their appropriate position should be indicated in the text. Refer to tables and figures in the main text by their numbers. Also, figure legends' explanations should be given at the end of the text.

2- Manuscripts can only be submitted through the journal’s online manuscript submission and evaluation system, available at https://dergipark.org.tr/tr/journal/3997/submission/step/manuscript/new. During the submission process, the authors should upload the manuscript's figures to the online manuscript submission system. The Copyright Transfer Agreement Form is signed by all the authors and must be uploaded to the submission system.

3- The authors should indicate the institute's name that approves the necessary ethical commission report and the serial number of the approval in the materials and methods section. If necessary, the editorial board may also request the official document of the ethical commission report. If an ethical problem is detected (not reporting project information, lack of ethical committee information, conflict of interest, etc.), the editorial board may reject the manuscript at any stage of the evaluation process.

Manuscripts Types

Original (Full-Article) manuscripts are original and proper scientific papers based on sufficient scientific investigations, observations, and experiments. Manuscripts consist of the title, abstract, and keywords, introduction, material and methods, results, discussion, acknowledgment, Declaration of Interest, and references, and they should not exceed 15 pages, including text. The number of references should not exceed 50. The page limit does not include tables and illustrations. The Abstract should contain 250 words.

Short communication manuscripts contain recent information and findings in related topics; however, they are written with insufficient length to be an original full-length article. They should be prepared in the format of the original full-length article, but the Abstract should not exceed 100 words, the reference numbers should not exceed 15, and the text length should be no longer than 6 pages in total.

Preliminary scientific reports are a short description of partially completed original research findings at an interpretable level. These should be prepared in the format of full-length original articles.

Letters to the editor are concise, picture-documented presentations of subjects offering scientific or practical benefits. The length of the text should be no longer than three pages in total. The page limit includes tables and illustrations.

Reviews must include criteria for consideration: a critical overview of the field, with a strong focus on current challenges and the bottlenecks to future major advances. Please make sure to emphasize the molecular mechanistic aspects where possible. Otherwise, please feel free to decide the exact scope of your review and the depth of coverage, keeping in mind that the overall message should be accessible to the journal's broad readership. Also, the review must represent a fair and unbiased coverage of the most recent advances, relevant approaches, and research groups working in the field, and accommodate different points of view. Finally, we would encourage you to include a 'perspectives' paragraph at the end of your review that proposes the direction you personally consider the field should take and the prospects for useful applications you might expect to see in the near future and beyond. The title and summary of this manuscript should be prepared as described for the full-length original articles, and the remaining sections should be followed by an abstract, introduction, text (with appropriate titles), conclusion, and references.

Title page

A separate title page should be submitted with all submissions, and this page should include (Please use the Template of Title Page):

The full title of the manuscript, as well as a short title (running head) of no more than 60 characters,
Name(s), affiliations, and ORCID IDs of the author(s),
Grant information and detailed information on the other sources of support,
Name, address, telephone (including the mobile phone number), and email address of the corresponding author.
Authors' Contributions (The contributions of all authors should be described on the title page of the manuscript using the CRediT Taxonomy of author roles).
Figures and figure caption

You should not attach figure files to the manuscript; instead, upload them to our e-submission system when submitting your paper.

Figures should be submitted in TIFF or JPEG file format, and they will be automatically attached at the end of the manuscript in PDF. Number figures as Figure 1, Figure 2 … in order of citation in the figure legend. An individual should not be recognizable in the photographs unless written consent of the subject has been obtained and is provided at the time of submission. Scales should be presented as a bar in the picture or as a magnification remark in the legend.

Except for especially complicated drawings that show large amounts of data, all figures are published at one page or one column width; when the figures are reduced to the size of a single column or of the single page width, the smallest parts of the figure must be legible.

It is recommended to size the original figure widths to 4 inches. The minimum requirements for digital resolution are:

900 DPI/PPI for black and white images, such as line drawings or graphs.
300 DPI/PPI for picture-only photographs.
600 DPI/PPI for photographs containing pictures and line elements, i.e., text labels, thin lines, arrows.
The abbreviations for a minute, hour, and day are min, hr, and d, respectively, and the abbreviations for a week, month, and year are wk, mo, and yr, respectively. These abbreviations are used in tables, figures, and virgule constructions.

Summary data (e.g., means, odds ratios) should be reported using data markers for point estimates, not bars, and should include error bars indicating measures of uncertainty (e.g., SDs, 95% CIs). Actual values (not log-transformed values) of relative data (for example, odds ratios, hazard ratios) should be plotted on log scales.

The figures should be at least 300 dpi resolution in your Manuscript Word file, and place a caption below each figure. A caption should comprise a brief title (not on the figure itself) and a description of the illustration. Keep text in the illustrations themselves to a minimum, but explain all symbols and abbreviations used. This is designed to help the reviewers evaluate your work more efficiently.

Tables and table caption

Please submit tables as editable text and not as images. Tables can be placed either next to the relevant text in the article or on separate page(s) at the end. Number tables consecutively in accordance with their appearance in the text and place any table notes below the table body. Be sparing in the use of tables and ensure that the data presented do not duplicate results described elsewhere in the article. Please avoid using vertical rules and shading in table cells.

Highlights (Optional)

Highlights are optional for this journal. Specifications: include 3 to 5 bullet points (max. 85 characters per bullet point, including spaces); only the core results of the paper should be covered. The first bullet point should state the background or context of the question. One to three bullet points should describe the principal results. The last bullet point should conclude with a clear description of the conceptual advance and significance of the work. Highlights should be submitted as a separate file in the Online submission system when uploading files. Highlights will be also in the article PDF file. An example of Highlights Template is here.

Abstract

The abstract must be concise (limit of 250 words) and factual. It should convey the concept and the importance of the paper to non-specialist readers. The Abstract should briefly state the background of the question and the principal results and conclude with a clear description of the conceptual advance and significance of the work. Detailed descriptions of the study or the findings should not be included in the abstract. An abstract is required for all papers. An abstract is often presented separately from the article, so it must be able to stand alone. Also, non-standard or uncommon abbreviations should be avoided, but if essential, they must be defined at their first mention in the abstract itself.

Keywords

Authors should supply five keywords after the Abstract. Keywords should not be words from the title.

Abbreviations

Abbreviations should be avoided as much as possible. When they are used, the full expression of the abbreviations in parentheses following the abbreviated word should be given at the first use.

Introduction

State the objectives of the work and provide an adequate background, avoiding a detailed literature survey or a summary of the results.

Materials and Methods (primary section heading)

Provide sufficient detail to allow the work to be reproduced. Methods already published should be indicated by a reference: only relevant modifications should be described.

Ethical approval of studies and informed consent

For all manuscripts reporting data from studies involving human participants or animals, formal review and approval, or formal review and waiver, by an appropriate institutional review board or ethics committee is required and should be described in the Methods section.

General text style

Generic and brand names of medicine or chemicals.

For medicine, use generic names. If a brand name should be used, insert it in parentheses after the generic name.

Statistical analysis

Standard deviation and the standard error should be described in the format of mean±SD and mean±SE, respectively. P-values should be described as P<0.05 or P=0.003.

Units

Scientific units should be followed by the International System of Units (http://www.bipm.org/en/measurement-units). Unit for volume is 'L', instead of 'l' to avoid confusion; Unit for blood pressure is mmHg; Temperature is expressed in Celsius, and concentration in M, mM, and µM.

Results
Results should be clear and concise.

Tables and figures should be indicated in the main text as follows:

Discussion

This should explore the significance of the results of the work, not repeat them. A combined Results and Discussion section is often appropriate. Avoid extensive citations and discussion of published literature.

Acknowledgments

Collate acknowledgments in a separate section at the end of the article before the references, and do not, therefore, include them on the title page, as a footnote to the title, or otherwise. List here those individuals who provided help during the research (e.g., providing language help, writing assistance, or proofreading the article, etc.).

Declaration of Interest

The statement must be provided as a separate section (titled 'Declaration of interest') at the end of the main text, before the 'References' section.

Reference style

References should be listed at the end of the manuscript in alphabetical order according to the first author’s surname. When cited in the text, references should be indicated by author name(s) and year in parentheses. Only papers that have been published or accepted should be cited in the reference list. If there are up to seven authors in a reference, then all names of the authors should be listed. If there are more than seven authors, list the first six authors, insert three ellipsis points, and then add the last author’s name. The title of the article, journal title (in full), year of publication, volume number, and inclusive page numbers should be cited.

The publisher will send the electronic PDF file to the corresponding author. There are no offprints.

Supplemental data

The acceptance of supplemental material is at the Editor's discretion. Supplemental information must be submitted with the manuscript for review by the editor and referees. Manuscripts must be complete and stand-alone. Supplemental material should complement the printed paper and may include figures and figure legends, tables, supporting data, sequence alignments, primers, derivation of equations, and videos. The availability of supplemental information will be indicated in the printed paper and the supplemental data will be directly linked to the online version of the paper. Reference to the supplemental information may be made at appropriate places in the text.

With the exception of videos, the supplemental information must be submitted electronically in the form of a single PDF file. Very large tabulations of supporting data may be submitted as Microsoft Excel files.

Submission of Manuscript

Authors are requested to submit their papers electronically by an e-submission system, which can be accessed on the official website of Eurasian Mol Biochem Sci (https://dergipark.org.tr/en/journal/3997/submission/step/manuscript/new) as well. After creating an account, authors can proceed with the submission process as arranged. Before submission, the instructions described in the Eurasian Mol Biochem Sci manuscript template files should be carefully reviewed in formatting the papers. The title page, manuscript main text (including tables and figures), and copyright form should be included in the submission file package.

Revisions
When submitting a revised version of a paper, the author must submit a detailed “Response to the reviewers” that states point by point how each issue raised by the reviewers has been covered and where it can be found (each reviewer’s comment, followed by the author’s reply and line numbers where the changes have been made) as well as an annotated copy of the main document. Revised manuscripts must be submitted within 30 days of the date of the decision letter. If the revised version of the manuscript is not submitted within the allocated time, the revision option may be canceled. If the submitting author(s) believe that additional time is required, they should request this extension before the initial 30-day period is over.

Accepted manuscripts are copy-edited for grammar, punctuation, and format by professional language editors. Once the publication process of a manuscript is completed, it is published online on the journal’s webpage in its scheduled issue. A PDF proof of the accepted manuscript is sent to the corresponding author, and their publication approval is requested within 2 days of their receipt of the proof.

Open Access Policy
Eurasian Journal of Molecular and Biochemical Sciences is a free open-access journal, meaning that all published content is freely accessible to readers. There is no fee for submission and publication, and all of its contents are freely available at cost.
Starting on October 25, 2021, all content published in the journal is licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial (CC BY-NC) 4.0 International License, which allows third parties to use the content for non-commercial purposes as long as they give credit to the original work. This license allows for the content to be shared and adapted for non-commercial purposes, promoting the dissemination and use of the research published in the journal.

The content published before October 2021 was licensed under a traditional copyright, but the archive is still available for free access.

Bioethics
All research submitted to the Eurasian Journal of Molecular and Biochemical Sciences for consideration must have been conducted in accordance with Eurasian Journal of Molecular and Biochemical Sciences guidelines on study ethics. In accordance with COPE guidelines, the Eurasian Journal of Molecular and Biochemical Sciences reserves the right to reject any manuscript that editors believe does not uphold high ethical standards, even if authors have obtained ethical approval or if ethical approval is not required. Eurasian Journal of Molecular and Medical Sciences encourages authors to follow the ARRIVE guidelines for the design, analysis, and reporting of scientific research.

Studies Involving Animal Subjects

An approval of research protocols by the Ethics Committee in accordance with international agreements (World Medical Association Declaration of Helsinki “Ethical Principles for Medical Research Involving Human Subjects,” amended in October 2013, www.wma.net) is required for experimental, clinical, and drug studies. If required, ethics committee reports or an equivalent official document will be requested from the authors. For manuscripts concerning experimental research on humans, a statement should be included that shows that written informed consent of patients and volunteers was obtained following a detailed explanation of the procedures that they may undergo. For studies carried out on animals, the measures taken to prevent pain and suffering of the animals should be stated clearly. Information on patient consent, the name of the ethics committee, and the ethics committee approval number should also be stated in the Materials and Methods section of the manuscript. It is the authors’ responsibility to protect the patients’ anonymity carefully.

All research involving regulated animals (i.e., all live vertebrates and higher invertebrates) must have been reviewed and approved by an ethics committee prior to commencing the study and performed in accordance with relevant institutional and national guidelines and regulations. Eurasian Journal of Molecular and Medical Sciences follows the International Association of Veterinary Editors guidelines for publication of studies, including animal research. Clinical studies involving animals and interventions outside of routine care require ethics committee oversight as per the AVMA (Animal Health Studies Database). Authors must provide ethics approval information within the submission system, which generates an ethics statement to be included in the submission file.

Should the study be exempt from ethics approval, authors need to state the reasons for exemption within the generated statement. Studies involving client-owned animals (non-commercially available animals, e.g. pets or livestock) should demonstrate the best practice veterinary care and confirm that written informed consent has been granted by the owner(s), or the legal representative of the owner(s). An example of a generated statement for a study involving client-owned animals can be found below:

“The animal study was reviewed and approved by [Full name and affiliation of ethics committee]. Written informed consent was obtained from the owners for the participation of their animals in this study.”

1.1. Humane Endpoints

All manuscripts describing studies where death is an endpoint will be subject to additional ethical considerations. Eurasian Journal of Molecular and Medical Sciences reserves the right to reject manuscripts lacking appropriate justification.

Studies Involving Human Subjects
Research involving human subjects should have been conducted in accordance with the World Medical Association’s Declaration of Helsinki. Studies involving human participants must be performed in accordance with relevant institutional and national guidelines, with the appropriate institutional ethics committee's prior approval and informed written consent from all human subjects involved in the study including for publication of the results. Confirmation of this approval is required upon submission of a manuscript to Eurasian Journal of Molecular and Medical Sciences; authors must provide ethics committee information within the submission system, which generates an ethics statement to be included in the submission. Information regarding subjects’ (or when appropriate, the parent’s or guardian’s) consent for participation should be provided within the submission system. Eurasian Journal of Molecular and Medical Sciences requires that consent for participation is both informed and written unless waived by an ethics committee or otherwise not required as per local legislation.

“The studies involving human participants were reviewed and approved by [Full name and affiliation of ethics committee]. The patients/participants provided their written informed consent to participate in this study.”

Should the study be exempt from ethics approval or consent procedures, authors need to clearly state the reasons in the generated statement. Eurasian Journal of Molecular and Medical Sciences may request a letter from the authors, obtained from an ethics committee in cases where full review and approval has been waived by the committee.

In order to protect subject anonymity, identifying information should not be included in the manuscript unless such information is absolutely necessary for scientific purposes AND explicit approval has been granted by the subjects.
Plagiarism and Ethical Misconduct
All submissions are screened by similarity detection software (Crossref Similarity Check Powered by iThenticate) multiple times during the peer-review and/or production processes.

When you are discussing others' (or your own) previous work, make sure that you cite the material correctly in every instance.

Authors are strongly recommended to avoid any form of plagiarism and ethical misconduct that is exemplified below.

Citation manipulation: The practice of manipulating the number of citations received by an author, journal, or other publication through various means, such as self-citation, excessive citation of articles from the same journal, or the inclusion of honorary citations or citation stacking.
Self-plagiarism (text-recycling): The practice of using overlapping sections or sentences from the author's previous publications without properly citing them. This is considered a form of plagiarism, as it involves using someone else's work (in this case, the author's own work) without proper attribution.
Salami slicing: The practice of using the same data from a research study in several different articles. This is considered to be unethical, as it involves reporting the same hypotheses, population, and methods of a study in multiple papers.
Data Fabrication: The addition of data that never occurred during the gathering of data or experiments. This is considered to be a form of research misconduct, as it involves presenting false or misleading information as if it were real data.
Data Manipulation/Falsification: The practice of manipulating research data with the intention of giving a false impression. This can include manipulating images, removing outliers or "inconvenient" results, changing data points, and other forms of manipulation. This is also considered to be a form of research misconduct, as it involves presenting false or misleading information as if it were real data.

In the event of alleged or suspected research misconduct such as plagiarism, citation manipulation, or data falsification/fabrication, the Editorial Board will follow the appropriate COPE flowcharts to ensure that the allegations or suspicions are handled in a fair, transparent, and consistent manner.

Authorship
All individuals listed as an author should meet the authorship criteria recommended by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE). The ICMJE recommends that authorship is based on the following four criteria:

1. Substantial contributions to the conception or design of the work or the acquisition, analysis, or interpretation of data for the work.
2. Drafting the work or reviewing it critically for important intellectual content.
3. Final approval of the version to be published.
4. The agreement includes accountability for all aspects of the work, ensuring that any questions regarding the accuracy or integrity of any part are properly investigated and resolved.

In addition to being accountable for the parts of the work they have done, authors should also be able to identify which co-authors are responsible for specific other parts of the work to ensure that the contributions of all authors are accurately and appropriately acknowledged. Authors may use CRediT (Contributor Roles Taxonomy) to provide information about individual contributions at the time of submission. It is expected that all authors agreed upon their individual contributions as shared by the corresponding author. The authors’ contribution statement will be published with the final article and should accurately reflect contributions to the work.

Furthermore, authors should have confidence in the integrity of the contributions of their co-authors. This means they should trust that their co-authors have conducted the research in an ethical and responsible manner and that the data and results presented in the manuscript are accurate and reliable.

Individuals who do not meet all four of the authorship criteria should not be included as authors on the manuscript. But they can still be recognized on the manuscript's title page for their contributions to the research.

If the editorial board suspects a case of ghost, honorary, or gift authorship, the submission will be suspended, and the relevant COPE flowchart and COPE policy on authorship and contributorship will be followed.

Change of Authorship
Any requests for changes to authorship, such as the removal or addition of authors, or changes in the order of authors, should be submitted to the editorial office with a letter stating the reasons for the change. The letter must be signed by all authors, including any who have been removed.

The journal’s Editorial Board will handle all requests for changes to authorship in a consistent and transparent manner, following the relevant COPE flowchart guidelines. These procedures are in place to protect the integrity of the research and the reputation of all involved authors.

Declaration of Interests

Eurasian Journal of Molecular and Biochemical Sciences requires the ICMJE Disclosure Form to be filled in and submitted by all contributing authors of each manuscript in order to be informed about potential conflicts of interest of authors.

Eurasian Journal of Molecular and Biochemical Sciences also requires and encourages individuals involved in the peer review process of submitted manuscripts to disclose any existing or potential competing interests that might lead to bias.

The Editorial Board will handle cases of potential competing interests of editors, authors, or reviewers within the scope of relevant COPE flowcharts and ICMJE recommendations.

Financial Disclosure

Eurasian Journal of Molecular and Biochemical Sciences requires authors to disclose any financial support they received to conduct their research. This information should be included in the funding statement, which should be provided when the manuscript is submitted to the journal.

The funding statement should include the name of any granting agencies, the grant numbers, and a description of each funder's role in the research. If the funder had no role in the research, this should be stated in the funding statement as well. This information is important for readers to understand the potential biases and conflicts of interest that may exist in the research.

The Role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Manuscript Preparation
Eurasian Journal of Molecular and Biochemical Sciences follows the guidelines outlined by the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) with regard to the utilization of AI and AI-assisted technology in manuscript preparation. Authorship encompasses a range of tasks that can only be performed by humans, and authors are accountable for ensuring the article's originality and possessing the requisite qualifications for authorship. AI can be used to correct language in articles, but it cannot be credited as an author to preserve the article's quality and originality.

The journal is committed to upholding existing copyright laws and recognized best practices in publication ethics. We generally do not permit the use of AI-generated visual content in our publications due to ongoing legal uncertainties—except in the following cases:

For images that are directly referenced in research on artificial intelligence, the description should state “Created by Artificial Intelligence.”

Authors must verify the accuracy and appropriateness of the images generated by AI and clearly state the AI methodology used within the manuscript. Any AI-generated content must comply with scientific standards and ethical guidelines.

Post-Publication Correction Requests and Retractions
All post-publication correction requests are subject to editorial review. The editorial board will review the request and determine whether the correction is necessary and appropriate. The decision to publish a correction will be based on the nature of the error, its potential impact on the article, and the availability of supporting evidence. The editorial board may also consult with the authors, reviewers, and other experts as needed to make its decision. If the correction request is approved, the article will be corrected in the journal's archive.

The Editorial Board reviews cases following journal policies and ICMJE and COPE guidelines.

If misconduct allegations are made by whistleblowers directly, the Editorial Board will follow the relevant COPE’s flowchart. The journal will act in accordance with the COPE's flowchart on how to respond to whistleblowers when concerns are raised about a published article on a social media site.

In some cases, an ombudsperson may be assigned to resolve claims that cannot be resolved internally.

To investigate potential ethical misconduct, the editorial board may share information with other editors-in-chief to conduct investigations more efficiently and effectively. If communication with the editor-in-chief is necessary, the editorial board will follow the relevant COPE's recommendations.

If necessary, the journal may also contact institutions to inform them of suspected misconduct by researchers and provide evidence to support these concerns, following COPE guidelines in the process.

In the event of ethical misconduct concerns, the editors will investigate the case according to COPE guidelines. If the investigation verifies the concern, the editors may issue a retraction notice. The retraction notice will be published in the journal, and the article's record will be updated to reflect the retraction. The article will remain in the archives of the journal, but it will be clearly marked as retracted. The article's record will also be updated in the relevant indexes to reflect the retraction.

Withdrawal Requests

Withdrawal requests for an article are reviewed by the editorial board of the journal. To request the withdrawal of an article, the authors must send a letter signed by all authors stating their request and the reasons for withdrawal to the journal editor. The editorial board will then review the request and make a decision based on the reasons provided by the authors. If the request is approved, the article will be withdrawn from the journal, and the authors will be notified of the decision. It is important to note that authors should not submit their work to another journal for evaluation until the withdrawal request has been approved. This is to avoid any potential conflicts of interest or duplication of publication.

Appeals and Complaints

The editorial board of the journal is responsible for addressing appeals and complaints in accordance with the guidelines and recommendations of the COPE. If an author has an appeal or complaint, they should contact the editorial office directly to discuss their concerns. The editorial board will review the case and make a decision based on COPE guidelines.

The editor-in-chief has the final authority in the decision-making process for all appeals and complaints. In some cases, an ombudsperson may be assigned to resolve claims that cannot be resolved internally. It is important to note that the journal follows a fair and transparent process for handling appeals and complaints, with the goal of preserving the integrity of the scientific record.

Preprint Policy

Eurasian Journal of Molecular and Biochemical Sciences does not consider preprints as prior publication, which means that authors are allowed to present and discuss their findings on a non-commercial preprint server before submitting their work to the journal.

However, authors must provide the journal with the preprint server deposition of their article, along with its DOI, during the initial submission process.

If the article is accepted and published, the authors must update the archived preprint and link it to the published version. This helps to ensure that readers can easily access the most up-to-date and accurate information.

Permission Policy

As of the April-October 2021 issue, the journal's content is licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License (CC BY-NC 4.0).

Under this license, users are allowed to share, adapt, reproduce, and distribute the journal's content for non-commercial purposes, provided that they give appropriate credit to the original author and the journal.

Erzurum Technical University is the copyright holder of content published before April 2021.

Data Sharing Policy

As of 1 January 2019, a data sharing statement is required for the registration of clinical trials. Authors are required to provide a data sharing statement for articles that report the results of a clinical trial. The data sharing statement should indicate the items below, according to the ICMJE data sharing policy:

• Whether individual deidentified participant data will be shared,
• What data in particular will be made available,
• Whether additional, related documents will also be provided,
• When the data will become accessible and for how long it will remain available,
• The criteria for accessing the data, including who will have access, the purpose of the analysis, and the mechanism for obtaining the data,

While submitting a clinical trial to Eurasian Journal of Molecular and Biochemical Sciences,
• Authors are required to register with a publicly accessible registry according to ICMJE recommendations and the instructions above.
• The name of the registry and the registration number should be provided on the title page during the initial submission.
• Data sharing statement should also be stated on the title page even if the authors do not plan to share it.

The clinical trial and data sharing policy of the journal will be valid for the articles submitted from October 2021.

Publication Policy

Eurasian Journal of Molecular and Biochemical (Eurasian Mol Bio Sci) is open access, peer-reviewed, nationally and internationally refereed scientific journal published twice a year in March and October, since 2022. Scientific articles submitted for publication in the journal must be in English.

The journal new peer in the fields of molecular and medical sciences is one of the journals. While the journal mainly provides a platform where issues related to molecular analysis of human, plant, animal, and microorganisms.

The target audience of the journal is academicians, researchers, professionals, students, and related professional and academic institutions and organizations. Maximum one article can be published in a number of author/authors.

No processing fee or submission fee is charged for articles sent to the journal or accepted for publication.

All expenses of the journal are covered by Erzurum Technical University. Articles submitted for article publication and article processes in the journal should be prepared in accordance with the rules of research and publication ethics. The journal observes the publication ethics principles, standards, and recommendations determined by the COPE (Committee on Publication Ethics).

All rights of the studies uploaded to Eurasian Mol Med Sci have been transferred to the journal by the authors. A signature and a certificate of approval are not required from the author for this process. The scientific content, language, legal and ethical responsibilities of the studies published in the journal belong to the author / authors.

In the studies evaluated within the journal, our journal addresses the responsible (corresponding) author, does not have a relationship with other authors, and does not have to give information to people other than the responsible author.

All kinds of publications and copyright of Eurasian Mol Med Sci also belong to the journal editor.

According to the provisions of Law No. 5846 on Intellectual and Artistic Works, any part or all of it cannot be published or reproduced by photocopy, digital and similar methods without the permission of the editor of the magazine.

Quotations that do not comply with scientific ethical rules cannot be made. The intellectual and legal responsibility of the articles published in the journal belongs to the authors.

There is no royalty payment to the author (s) for the works published in the journal.

The opinions and responsibility in the articles published in the journal belong to the authors.

In the journal, not only studies from academics but also studies from researchers and practitioners will be evaluated.

Manuscripts submitted to the journal must not have been published anywhere before and have not been submitted for publication.

The citation and reference order of the articles to be sent to the journal should be in accordance with the instruction for the authors of the journal.

Articles should be prepared in accordance with the spelling rules and uploaded to the system completely after registering on the journal website.



Evaluation process:

All studies submitted to Eurasian Mol Biochem Sci are subject to double-blind peer review. At least two external, independent peer reviewers who are experts in their fields to ensure an unbiased evaluation process evaluates each study to be submitted.

The studies evaluated are first evaluated by the editors. Studies found in accordance with the journal publication policies are sent to a field editor for the field of interest for pre-evaluation. Studies that do not comply with the purpose and scope of the journal, are weak in terms of language and expression rules in English, contain scientific critical errors, do not have original value, and do not meet the publication policies are rejected. Authors of rejected studies are informed within two weeks at the latest from the date of submission.

As a result of the referee evaluations, the study is published in the first appropriate issue according to the publishable suggestion of both referees and with the approval of the editorial board. If one of the referees gives a negative opinion, the study is sent to a third referee and evaluated. With the positive view of this referee and the approval of the editorial board, the study is accepted and published in the first appropriate issue. The study with two negative opinions is rejected.

It is foreseen that the publication evaluation process of the studies submitted to the Eurasian Mol Med Sci will be finalized within approximately 3 months.
