Abstract

Bir eserin icrasında, eserin yazıldığı dönem, bestecinin yaşamı, bestecinin ve döneminin kompozisyon biçimi icracı tarafından dikkat edilmesi gereken en temel unsurlardandır. Bunun yanı sıra icracının, eseri icra etmeden önce, eserin formunu ve özellikle 20. yüzyıl müziklerinde eser içerisinde hangi modern tekniklere yer verildiğini bilmesi oldukça önemlidir. Tüm bunlar icracıyı bestecinin isteklerini benimseyerek eseri en uygun ve doğru şekilde seslendirmeye hazırlayacaktır.

Vincent Persichetti’nin “Solo Korno için Parable Op. 120” (1973) eseri, solo korno repertuvarı içerisinde çok önemli bir yere sahiptir ve 20. yüzyıl müzikleri arasında en çok seslendirilen eserlerden biridir. Korno icracısına tüm ustalığını ve korno üzerindeki hakimiyetini gösterebilme imkânı sunan bu eser içerdiği çeşitli 20. yüzyıl teknikleri (genişletilmiş teknikler) ile çalıcıyı zorlayabilmektedir. Bu çalışmada, Vincent Persichetti’nin “Solo Korno için Parable Op. 120” eserinin 20. yüzyıl teknikleri bakımından incelemesi yapılmış olup bu tekniklerin icrasına yardımcı olacağı düşünülen önerilere yer verilmiştir. Buna ek olarak bestecinin yaşamı ve müzik dili araştırılarak bu eseri icra edecek korno sanatçıları ve öğrencileri için bir kaynak olması amaçlanmıştır.

An Overwiev of Persichetti's Parable Op. 120 in the Context of 20th Century Techniques

Abstract

In the performance of a work, the period in which the work was written, the life of the composer, and the compositional style of the composer and his period are among the most fundamental elements to be considered by the performer. In addition, it is very important for the performer to know the form of the piece and which modern techniques are used in the piece, especially in 20th century music, before performing it. All these will prepare the performer to perform the work in the most appropriate and correct way by adopting the composer's wishes.

Vincent Persichetti's "Parable for Solo Horn Op. 120" (1973) has a very important place in the solo horn repertoire and is one of the most frequently performed pieces of 20th century music. This work, which offers the horn player the opportunity to show all his mastery and command over the horn, can challenge the player with various 20th century techniques (extended techniques). In this study, Vincent Persichetti's "Parable for Solo Horn Op. 120" is analyzed in terms of 20th century techniques and suggestions that are thought to help the performance of these techniques are given. In addition to this, the composer's life and musical language were researched and it was aimed to be a resource for horn players and students who will perform this work.
