Minimization of Labor Costs in Textile Manufacturing with Dynamic Programming

Öz

Günümüz artan rekabet ortamında emek yoğun çalışan tekstil işletmelerinin karlılıklarını korumak ve devamlılıklarını sağlamak için çalışanlarını etkin kullanarak minimum düzeyde tutmaları kaçınılmaz bir zorunluluk haline gelmiştir. Böylece verilen sipariş istenen zamanda ve kalitede üretilirken aynı zamanda maliyetlerinin büyük kısmını oluşturan işgücü maliyetleri optimize edilecektir. Son yıllarda, işgücü maliyetlerinin optimizasyonu, vardiya planlaması, envanter kontrolü, nakliye problemleri gibi sorunlarda yaygın olarak dinamik programlama kullanılmaktadır. Bu çalışmada, İstanbul’da faaliyet gösteren fason dikim atölyesinin işgücü maliyetlerinin optimize etmek için dinamik programlama kullanılmış ve elde edilen sonuçlar işletmeye önerilmiştir.

Minimization of Labor Costs in Textile Manufacturing with Dynamic Programming

Abstract

In the increasingly competitive world today, it has become an inevitable necessity for labor-intensive garment companies to use their employees effectively in order to maintain their profitability and ensure their continuity. Thus, the aim is to ensure that the production process is of the desired time and quality while optimizing the labor costs, which constitute a large part of the total costs. In recent years, dynamic programming has been used widely in order to overcome problems that may arise in the optimization of labor costs, shift planning, inventory control, transportation problems. For this reason, in this study, dynamic programming was used to optimize the labor costs of a contract sewing workshop operating in Istanbul and the results were presented to the establishment.
