Abstract
University students’ stress factors in their education lives, even future anxiety increase stress level and affect their health negatively. Leisure time is seen as an essential tool that individuals can escape from hairy situations. However, it is thought that an understanding of the role of informative and skill -developing leisure activities should be developed. Structural equation modelling (SEM) has been used in the study. 313 university students from Faculty of Sports Sciences at Eskisehir Technical and Kastamonu University have been surveyed using convenience sampling method. Because of the pandemic outbreak, the data has been collected online. It has been analysed in two process in structural equation modelling. In the first process measurement, in the second process relation between structures have been analysed. Measurement model has been evaluated using convergence and discriminant validity. Measurement model has been found valid. According to analyses of structural equation model, participating to informative and skills development activities affect stress level in a negative way and stress level affect satisfaction with life negatively.
It has also been found that participating to Informative and Skills development leisure time activities have no effect on satisfaction with life. Participation to leisure time activities have many benefits in order to have knowledge and skills development. As a result of decreasing stress, there has been an increase in satisfaction with life. According to results of this study, it has been proposed that leisure time programs should be developed and provided.
