The harmful mite species and their natural enemies on trees and shrubs in recreation areas of Konya province This research was carried out to determine harmful mite species and their natural enemies on deciduous trees and shrubs in recreation areas of Konya province in 20052006. A total of 485 plant samples collected from 40 plant species were infected by mites. As a result, 11 phytophagous mite species were found, with 7 species belonging to 4 genera from Tetranychidae, Tarsonemus sp. from Tarsonemidae (Acarina) and 3 species belonging to 3 genera from Eriophyidae. The most common and widespread mite was Tetranychus urticae Koch (Tetranychidae) and Amphitetranychus viennensis Zacher (Tetranychidae) followed it. As predators of the harmful mites, 11 species from Coccinellidae, 2 species from Anthocoridae, 1 species from Thripidae, 1 species from Chrysopidae, 3 species from Tydeidae and 1 species from Stigmaeidae were observed. Among the predators, Stethorus gilvifrons Mulsant (Coccinellidae: Coleoptera) and Scymnus spp. (Coccinellidae: Coleoptera) were the most common and widespread species
