Artificial Intelligence Policy

Authors must declare the use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) during the manuscript preparation process when submitting their work.

Journal of Research in Economics, Politics & Finance recognizes that generative AI and AI-assisted technologies, when used responsibly, have the potential to help researchers work more efficiently, reach critical insights more quickly, and achieve better research outcomes. These tools (including AI agents and deep research tools) can assist researchers in synthesizing complex literature, providing overviews of a field or research question, identifying research gaps, generating ideas, and offering customized support in tasks such as content organization as well as improving language and readability.

Authors preparing manuscripts for this journal may use AI tools for support purposes. However, these tools should never replace human critical thinking, expertise, and judgment. AI technologies must always be applied under human supervision and control.

Accordingly, authors remain fully responsible for the content of their work. This responsibility includes:

  • Carefully reviewing and verifying the accuracy, completeness, and impartiality of all AI-generated outputs (including checking that AI-generated references are not incorrect or fabricated).
  • Thoroughly editing and adapting all material to ensure that the manuscript reflects the author's original contribution and includes the author's own analysis, interpretation, and conclusions.
  • Ensuring that all tools and sources used, whether AI-based or not, are disclosed clearly and transparently to readers. If AI tools are used, a statement must be provided specifying which AI tool was used and for what purpose (see the sample disclosure statement below).
  • Checking the terms of use of any AI tools employed to ensure the protection of data privacy, intellectual property, and other rights.

Finally, since authorship entails responsibilities and duties that can only be undertaken by humans, authors may not list or cite AI tools as authors or co-authors of a manuscript.

The use of AI tools during the manuscript preparation process must be disclosed through a statement added at the end of the manuscript during submission. This statement will appear in the published article as a new section placed before the reference list.

Sample Disclosure Statement

During the preparation of this work, the author(s) used [NAME OF TOOL/SERVICE] for the purpose of [PURPOSE]. After using this tool/service, the content was reviewed and edited as necessary, and the author(s) take full responsibility for the content of the published article.

This declaration is also required for the use of basic tools such as grammar, spelling, or reference-checking tools. If no AI tools were used, the following statement may be included:

The author(s) did not use any artificial intelligence tools during the preparation of this manuscript.

Note: In order to protect author rights and research confidentiality, Journal of Research in Economics, Politics & Finance currently does not allow the use of generative AI tools by reviewers or editors during the peer-review and manuscript evaluation process. The journal continues to evaluate appropriate AI tools, and this policy may be updated in the future.
