Gebe Bir Anadolu Yaban Keçisinde (Capra aegagrus aegagrus) Coenurus cerebralis Olgusu

Abstract

Bu olguyu, Kayseri ili, Yahyalı ilçesi Aladağlar Yaban Hayatı Geliştirme sahası Arpalık mevkiinde bir çoban tarafından bitkin halde bulunan bir Anadolu yaban keçisi oluşturmuştur. 7-8 yaşlarında ve dişi yaban keçisi, Doğa Koruma ve Milli Parklar Müdürlüğü yetkilileri aracılığıyla Erciyes Üniversitesi Veteriner Fakültesi Eğitim, Araştırma ve Uygulama Hastanesine getirildi. İlk klinik muayenede iştahsızlık ve durgunluk dışında belirgin bir bulguya rastlanmadı. Kalp, solunum, vücut ısısı ve hematolojik değerleri normal sınırlar içinde tespit edildi. Transabdominal ultrasonografi muayenesinde keçinin yaklaşık 4 aylık gebe olduğu, kalp atımı olan tek bir fötüsü taşıdığı belirlenmiştir. Hastanede keçinin 16 gün süresince bakımı, beslenmesi ve destekleyici tedavileri yapıldı. Hospitalizasyon süresi içerisinde; durgunluk ve iştahsızlıkla birlikte, merkezi sinir sistemi bulgularından; kafayı duvara dayama, sürekli ayakta durma, kafanın ventrofleksiyonu, çiğneme yaparken bir süre duraksama, yürürken hafif sendeleme, kısmi her iki gözde körlük, sol tarafa dönme ve sol tarafa doğru başın döndürerek tutulması gibi belirtiler görüldü. Destekleyici tedavilere rağmen, son üç gün yeme içme durdu, sürekli uyku halinde yatma, kafada belirgin düzeyde ödem ve müköz karakterde burun akıntısını takiben ölüm gerçekleşti. Nekropside, sağ ve sol beyin hemisferlerinin tam ortasında, sola biraz daha fazla oranda kaymış, bol miktarda berrak sıvısı olan tek bir kist kesesi içinde çok sayıda beyaz renkli skoleks görülmüştür. Hayati organlarda herhangi bir patolojik bulgu görülmemiş olup, 4.5 aylık erkek ölü bir fötüs (annenin ölümüne bağlı) bulunmuştur. Üreme sezonu dışında gebe kalan, C. cerebralis'in kronik formunun klinik özelliklerini gösteren ve yaban hayatı bölgesinde yaşayan bir Anadolu yaban keçisinde Coenurosis vakası ilk defa görülmüştür.

A Case of Coenurus cerebralis in a Pregnant Anatolian Wild Goat (Capra aegagrus aegagrus)

Abstract

An Anatolian wild goat found exhausted by a shepherd in Arpalık locality of Aladağlar Wildlife Development area in Yahyalı district of Kayseri province was presented in this case. A 7-8 year-old female wild goat was brought to the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Research and Application Hospital of Erciyes University by the officials of the Nature Conservation and National Parks Directorate. In the first clinical examination, there was no apparent finding except loss of appetite and stagnation. Heart, respiratory, body temperature and hematological values were within normal limits. In the transabdominal ultrasonographic examination, it was determined that the goat was about 4 months pregnant and carried a single fetus with a heartbeat. The goat was cared for, fed and supportive treatments for 16 days in the hospital. During the hospitalization period; central nervous system findings, with stagnation and anorexia; symptoms such as keeping the head against the wall, standing continuously, ventroflexion of the head, pausing for a while during chewing, slight staggering while walking, partial blindness in both eyes, turning to the left side and holding the head on the left side were observed. Despite supportive treatment, anorexia occurred during the last three days, death occurred following continuous sleep, marked edema in the head, and a mucous nasal discharge. In the necropsy, multiple white scolices were seen in the middle of the right and left cerebral hemispheres, in a single cyst sac with abundant clear fluid, slightly shifted to the left. No pathological finding was observed in vital organs, and a 4.5-month-old male dead fetus (owing to the death of the mother) was found. Coenurosis was seen for the first time in a wild goat that got pregnant outside the breeding season, showing clinical features of the chronic form of C. cerebralis and living in the wildlife area.
