A Meningiom Case of Two Cats

Abstract

The materials of our study are two cats which were 8 and 12 years old and were brought to the Erciyes University, Veterinary Faculty and Department of Pathology for necropsy. The 12-years-old cat had a flat grey lobulation, which was 1.5x2x0.7 cm, on the left frontal lobe covering both cerebral hemispheres was and both of cerebral hemisphere also covers gray flat lobulation and the 8-years-old cat had basal gray-white 1x2x1.5 cm elliptical in solitary mass in the brain adjacent to the pineal gland behind the hypothalamus in front of pons. At histological investigation, the mass was diagnosed as psammomatous for the 12-year-old cat and the mass is diagnosed as fibroblastic meningioma for the 8-year-old cat.The case of feline meningioma was reported because the case of feline meningioma was limited in our country.

İki Kedide Meningiom Olgusu

Abstract

 Bu çalışmanın materyalini Erciyes Üniversitesi Veteriner Fakültesi Patoloji Anabilim Dalı’na nekropsi isteği ile ölü getirilen biri 8 diğeri 12 yaşlı melez iki kedi oluşturdu. Oniki yaşlı kedi de çoğunluğu sol frontal lob üstünde olan ve her iki serebral hemisferi de örten 1.5x2x0.7 cm boyutlarında gri renkli yassı lobulasyon gösteren kitle ve 8 yaşlı kedi de ise beynin bazalinde ponsun önünde hipotalamusun arkasında epifiz bezine komşu gri-beyaz renkli 1x2x1.5 cm boyutlarında elips şeklinde solit kitle tespit edilmiştir. Histolojik olarak yapılan incelemede 12 yaşlı kedideki kitleye psammomatöz ve 8 yaşlı kedideki kitleye ise fibroblastik meningiom tanısı konmuştur. Ülkemizde kedilerde meningiom ile ilgili yayınların sınırlı olması nedeniylebu vaka yayın haline getirilmiştir.
