Köpek ve Kedilerde Cerrahi Yara Enfeksiyonu ve Profilaktik Antibiyotik Kullanımı

Abstract

Bu derlemede, cerrahi yara enfeksiyonu ve cerrahide profilaktik antibiyotik kullanımı değerlendirilmektedir. Hayvanlarda

cerrahi yara enfeksiyonları ciddi ekonomik kayıplara yol açan bir komplikasyondur. Operasyon yaraları organ ve dokuların,

dışarıdaki kontaminantlarla direkt olarak temasına neden olarak, enfeksiyona neden olan bakterilerin içeri girmesini

sağlamış olurlar. Etkili bir antibiyotik profilaksisi için, antibiyotiklerin operasyon boyunca bölgeyi kontamine eden patojen

mikroorganizmaları öldürmek ve üremesini engellemek için operasyon bölgesinde yeterli konsantrasyonlarda bulunması

gerekir. Profilaktik olarak antibiyotik uygulanması cerrahi yara enfeksiyonu insidensini azaltmasına rağmen, uygun olmayan

antibiyotiğin kullanılması gereksiz masraflar, antibiyotik direncinin artması ve süperenfeskiyonlarla sonuçlanır. Sonuç olarak,

cerrahi yara enfeksiyonlarından korunmada, cerrahi asepsiye ve profilaktik olarak uygun antibiyotiğin kullanılmasına sadık

kalmanın oldukça önemli olduğu kanısına varılmıştır.

Surgical Wound Infection and Prophylactic Antibiotic Use in Dogs and Cats

Abstract

In this review, surgical wound infection and the use of prophylactic antibiotics in surgery have been evaluated.

Surgical wound infections are the complications that cause serious economic losses in animals. Operation wounds facilitate

the entering of infectious bacteria into the body through direct contamination of organ and tissue with the contaminants

outside. For an effective antibiotic prophylaxis, antibiotics must be present in sufficient concentrations in operation side

to prevent the proliferation of microorganisms and kill those that contaminate the area during the operation. Although

prophylactic administration of antibiotics reduces the incidence of surgical wound infections, improper use of antibiotics leads

to unnecessary expenses, resulting in increased antibiotic resistance or superinfections. As a result, it is concluded that

surgical asepsis and the use of appropriate antibiotics prophylaxis are very important for the prevention of surgical wound

infections
