Demokrasi ve Ekonomik Gelişme

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, demokrasinin ekonomik gelişmeye nasıl katkı yaptığı incelenmiştir. Bu doğrultuda, öncelikle demokrasinin ekonomik gelişmeye olumlu katkılarının, gelişmeyi sınırlayıcı yada olumsuz katkılarından daha belirgin olduğu sonucuna ulaşılmıştır. Demokrasi otokrasilere göre, toplumsal çatışmaları yönetmede, siyasal istikrarı sağlamada ve toplumsal felaketleri engellemede daha başarılı olduğundan dolayı ekonomik gelişmeye de daha fazla katkı sağlamaktadır. Keza, demokrasi beşeri sermaye birikimini artırarak ve gelir eşitsizliğini azaltarak büyüme hızının yükselmesine yol açmaktadır. Bütün bu bulgulardan dolayı, demokrasinin gelişmekte olan ülkeler için bir lüks olarak görülmemesi, aksine, ekonomik gelişme için esas değer olarak kabul edilmesi gereğine bir kez daha dikkat çekilmiştir
