Abstract

Global media, by fast and changing technology, is located as the fourth power in every area of social life. Along with these changes, media has had an important role in the formation of attitudes and value judgments as well as the ideas of individuals. For this reason, understanding, selection and evaluation training of media messages is considered very important to give communities all over the world. With its developing media, Malaysia has very different aspects such as Asian, rich, Muslim, multicultural and democratic. Firstly in this study, Malaysia’s, both economically and technologically one of the fastest growing countries in the Asia, media consumption has been studied with graphics. Then accordingly medialiteracy education practices are discussed.

MALEZYA’DA MEDYA TÜKETİMİ ve MEDYA OKURYAZARLIĞI UYGULAMALARI

Abstract

Hızla ilerleyen ve değişen teknolojiyle daha da küreselleşen medya, toplumsal yaşantının her alanında dördüncü güç olarak yer almaktadır. Yaşanan bu değişimle birlikte, medya bireylerin düşüncelerinin, davranışlarının ve değer yargılarının oluşumunda önemli bir role sahip olmuştur. Bu sebeple artık medya iletilerini anlama, seçme ve değerlendirme konusu bütün dünyada toplumlara verilmesi gereken önemli eğitimler arasında ele alınmaktadır. Gelişen medyasıyla Malezya, Asyalı, zengin, Müslüman, çok kültürlü ve demokratik gibi birçok farklı sıfatı bir arada taşımaktadır. Bu çalışmada öncelikle Asya’nın hem ekonomik hem de teknolojik olarak en hızlı gelişen ülkelerinden biri olan Malezya toplumunun medya tüketimi incelenmiştir. Daha sonra da buna bağlı olarak medya okuryazarlığı eğitimi uygulamaları ele alınmıştır.
