Abstract

Purpose: Physiotherapists can experience occupational stress because of the intense work pace, treating heavy patients, and inadequate health services. Therefore, this study aimed to investigate the levels of occupational stress, fatigue, and quality of life of physiotherapists in different fields. Material and Methods: A total of 80 physiotherapists, 52 female and 28 males, participated. Physiotherapists were divided into four groups: pediatric, neurological, orthopedic, and cardiopulmonary according to the branch. The Occupational Stress Scale was used to assess occupational stress, the Fatigue Severity Scale was used to determine fatigue levels, and the Occupational Quality of Life Scale was used to measure quality of life. Results: When physiotherapists were compared according to their working areas, they were homogeneous in demographic characteristics (p>0.05). There was no significant difference in compassion satisfaction, burnout, and compassion fatigue (p=0.0188; p=0.047; p=0.047; p=0.016; p>0.0125, respectively). There was a statistically significant difference between the groups in the parameters of occupational stress (p=0.001) and fatigue (p=0.016). Physiotherapists working in the cardiopulmonary field had higher levels of work-related tension and fatigue. Conclusion: This study examined occupational stress, fatigue, and quality of life of physiotherapists according to branches, there was a similarity between branches in quality of life, and differences were found in occupational stress and fatigue. Developing occupational coping strategies and improving working conditions is recommended primarily for physiotherapists working in the cardiopulmonary field but also for physiotherapists in other fields.

FARKLI ALANLARDA ÇALIŞAN FİZYOTERAPİSTLERİN İŞE BAĞLI GERGİNLİK, YORGUNLUK ve YAŞAM KALİTESİ DÜZEYLERİNİN ARAŞTIRILMASI: Bir Randomize Çalışma

Abstract

Yöntem: Çalışmaya 52’si kadın 28’i erkek toplam 80 fizyoterapist katıldı.
