Author Guidelines

WRITING RULES

1. Erciyes University Faculty of Law Journal (ERÜHFD) is a peer-reviewed journal indexed by ULAKBİM, adhering to international research and publication ethics, and published twice a year, in the April and October issues. Studies requested for publication must be submitted via the DergiPark system by January 31 for the April issue and by July 31 for the October issue. The total number of articles we process for each issue is limited to 60, including processes carried over from the previous issue. Article acceptance will be closed if the quota is filled before the deadline.

2. When submitting articles to DergiPark, our authors are required to fill out the following documents and have them ready during the upload process.
  • Cover Page – The cover page must be filled out electronically and uploaded with the .docx extension. Submissions uploaded as images or PDFs will be returned.
  • Ethics and Conflict of Interest Declaration Form – This form must be signed by all authors and uploaded to the system as a PDF. Except for cropping, color correction or enhancement methods on the original image must not be used in PDF conversion tools. The form must be signed/approved by all authors. The form can be filled out and submitted in separate copies by authors in different institutions. However, all signatures must be original (scanning of the document with a wet signature) or have the quality of a valid and verifiable signature (such as an electronic signature). If multiple documents from separate authors are to be uploaded, they must be combined into a single document and uploaded to the system as a PDF.
  • Copyright and License Agreement – This agreement must be signed by all authors and uploaded to the system as a PDF.
  • Full Text Template – This document shall be uploaded to the system as .docx. The document content and file data must be anonymized. Please make the document anonymous before uploading. (To anonymize the article file that will be sent to the referee, the steps File > Info > Check for Issues > Inspect Document > Document Properties and Personal Information > Inspect > Remove All must be followed in Word. Any information in the content of the article that would violate blind peer review must be removed. For example, if there is publication information or citation produced from a thesis, this issue should be stated separately as "other information" on the cover page.)
  • Uploading all of the above documents is mandatory; other additional documents and information such as ethics committee approval documents, research data, etc., must be anonymized before being uploaded if they are to be sent to referees.

3. Scientific studies submitted for publication in the journal must be related to the fields of public law and private law and must not have been previously published or submitted for publication elsewhere. Translations must be submitted together with the original copy in the language in which they were published. The translation permission document must be uploaded to the system as an additional document.

4. Although the language of the journal is primarily Turkish, studies in English, French, and German are also included. Even if the studies are written in Turkish or any of the foreign languages, each study must primarily include a Turkish and English title, author names, and an abstract of at least 100 and at most 200 words that best expresses the purpose of the text. Abstracts must be prepared in any of the foreign languages (German and/or French) if preferred, in addition to the mandatory Turkish and English. In addition to the short English abstract, there should be an extended abstract format, which must be at least 600 words (preferably a maximum of 1500 words) in length. In addition, five keywords that can fully express the study should be included in Turkish and English under the abstract sections. Authors are required to upload their titles, Orcid ID numbers, e-mail addresses, institutions they work for, and other information on the title page.

5. In the text part of the article sent for publication, the first title should be in 13-point font, with the second title in 11-point font below it. Except for the first title, the remaining part should be in Times New Roman 11-point font, with line spacing of 1.15. Footnotes should be written under the text in Times New Roman font, 9-point, single line spacing, 0.6 hanging indent, and 3 pt space after the paragraph. Articles prepared in this way should not exceed 50 pages (page size should be selected as A4).

6. Articles should be prepared based on “The Chicago Manual of Style (17th Edition, Notes and Bibliography)” citation and reference system. The footnote number in the text should be given after the punctuation marks. In articles, the footnote citation method should be preferred, and in-text citations should not be used. When citing, the abbreviation 'p.' (or 's.') should not be added before the page number. A bibliography, in which the cited works and sources are listed in alphabetical order according to the author's surname, should be included at the end of the article. References should be written in the Latin alphabet, and care should be taken to ensure their format, accuracy, and accessibility.

The sources to be cited and the bibliography should be prepared as follows:
