Erciyes Journal of Sports Sciences aims to provide transparency regarding the use of Generative AI. This policy will be updated in line with technological developments.
📋 International Guidelines Adopted:
Authors may use AI tools for literature synthesis, language editing, and readability. However, these tools must be used under human oversight and control.
1. Author Responsibilities & Accountability

| Privacy | Do not upload unpublished data or PII to AI tools. Check the terms of use. |
| Intellectual Property | Ensure no content infringing on IP rights is uploaded to the AI tool. |
| Verification | Verify all AI outputs for accuracy and bias. (Note: AI-generated references can be fabricated; always check primary sources.) |
| Originality | Edit the content to reflect the author's own analysis and voice. |
2. Disclosure Requirements
Authors must disclose the use of AI tools upon submission. Place the following statement at the end of the manuscript, before References:
Heading: Declaration on the use of generative AI and AI-assisted technologies in the writing process
Example: "During the preparation of this work, the author(s) used [Name of the Tool / Service] in order to [Reason]. After using this tool/service, the author(s) reviewed and edited the content and take(s) full responsibility for the content of the publication."
3. Authorship
❌ AI tools cannot be listed as an author. Authorship implies responsibilities that can only be attributed to humans.
4. Use of AI in Images & Figures
