Abstract

Abstract

Nilotonia(Manotoniapersicawas described from Iran by Pešić and Saboori (2006) based on two females. The females of this species can be distingusihed from other Nilotoniaspecies by the dorsum with two small postocularia platelets and a posteromedial plate, claws on anterior three pairs of legs with one rudimentary peg-like clawlet on inner side, pedipalpal tibia with minute ventral tubercles, postgenital sclerite not enlarged and chelicera relatively slender. Later, the male of N. persicadescribed from Iran by Pešić and Vafaei (2009). The males can be distinguished from other species by the claws on anterior three pairs of legs with one rudimentary peg-like clawlet on inner side. In this study, two males and two females of the species were collected from Solhan district of Bingöl Province in 2017. The specimens collected from Bingöl Province completely agree with the given characters of N. (Manotonia)persica, previously. This is the second record of water mites of the subgenus Manotoniafrom Turkey. The morphological characters, measurements and drawings of various organs of the specimens were given.
