Ni, Cu and Pb Accumulation in Vegetables Irrigated with Different Water Sources in Nevşehir

Year 2017, Volume: 10 Issue: 2, 184 - 195, 22.12.2017

Abstract

Heavy metals tend to
accumulate in living organisms, it is possible them to accumulate in certain parts
and reach intense quantities. In our study; Four different plant species, (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill. (Tomato), Capsicum annuum L. (pepper), Allium cepa L. (onion), Phaseolus vulgaris L. (bean)), soil from
these plants grow and water (wells, rivers, channel, stream) were collected.
Nickel (Ni), Copper (Cu) and Lead (Pb) levels were determined in these samples
using the ICP-OES instrument.  According
to the results obtained from our study; 5.3583 μgg-1 Ni was detected
in the Lycopersicon esculentum leaf
collected from the Sulusaray location. According to the World Health
Organization (WHO), some vegetables have exceeded their limit values, the
maximum accumulation form was found to be root> stem> leaf>fruit. As a
result; it was determined that the highest heavy metal values were generally
found at the Avanos station, which was watered with Kızılırmak water, while the
lowest heavy metal contents were found in the samples at the Kavak station,
which is the control point and was watered with the well water.

Nevşehir’de Farklı Su Kaynaklarıyla Sulanan Sebzelerde Ni, Cu ve Pb Birikimi

Year 2017, Volume: 10 Issue: 2, 184 - 195, 22.12.2017

Abstract

Özet:
Ağır
metaller canlı organizmalarda birikme eğilimi göstererek, belirli kısımlarda
yığılmaları ve yoğun miktarlara ulaşabilmeleri mümkün olmaktadır. Çalışmamızda;
Bölgede genel olarak yetiştirilen 4 farklı bitki türünden, (Lycopersicon esculentum Mill. (domates), Capsicum annuum L. (biber), Allium cepa L. (soğan), Phaseolus vulgaris L. (fasulye)), bu
bitkilerin yetiştikleri topraklardan ve bitkileri yetiştirmede kullanılan
sulardan (kuyu, ırmak, kanal, dere) örnekler toplanmıştır. Örneklerdeki Nikel
(Ni), Bakır (Cu) ve Kurşun (Pb) miktarları ICP-OES cihazında belirlenmiştir.
Çalışmamızdan elde edilen bulgulara
göre; Sulusaray’dan alınan
Lycopersicon esculentum yaprağında 5.3583 μgg–1 Ni
tespit edilmiştir. Dünya Sağlık Örgütü (WHO)’nün belirlediği değerlere göre
