Investigation of the Relationship between Economic Growth and Financial Inclusion for TRC3 Region (Batman, Mardin, Siirt, Şırnak)

Abstract

Financial development is not only a result of economic growth, but also a driver of economic growth. Financial diffusion, which is a feature of financial development, is also a process that signals the improvement in the quantity, quality and efficiency of financial intermediation services. Again, financial development generates savings that increase investment in local businesses. In this study, the effect of financial inclusion as a product of financial development on economic growth in the TRC3 (Batman, Mardin, Siirt, Şırnak) region was investigated. As a result of the study, a long-term relationship was found between financial inclusion and economic growth by using different panel cointegration approaches. In other words, it has been stated that long-term sustainable growth can be achieved by expanding the banking infrastructure and services. It has also been tried to explain that financial inclusion is an important determinant of the development of societies. This study suggests that financial instruments and resources should be used more as alternative tools for the revitalization and diversification of the economy in the TRC3 region.

Ekonomik Büyüme ve Finansal Tabana Yayılma İlişkisinin TRC3 Bölgesi Açısından İncelenmesi

Abstract

Finansal gelişme sadece ekonomik büyümenin bir sonucu değildir, aynı zamanda ekonomik büyümenin itici gücüdür. Finansal gelişmenin bir özelliği olan finansal yayılma ise, finansal aracılık hizmetlerinin niceliği, kalitesi ve verimliliğindeki iyileşmeyi işaret eden bir süreçtir. Yerel işletmelerde yatırımları artıran tasarruflar üretir. Bu çalışma ile finansal tabana yayılmanın TRC3 (Batman, Mardin, Siirt, Şırnak) bölgesindeki ekonomik büyüme üzerindeki etkisi araştırılmıştır. Finansal tabana yayılmanın belirleyicilerinin ve ekonomik büyüme üzerindeki etkisinin vurgulanması amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma sonucunda, Farklı panel eş-bütünleşme yaklaşımları kullanılarak finansal tabana yayılma ile ekonomik büyüme arasında uzun dönemli bir ilişki bulunmuştur. Diğer bir deyişle, uzun vadeli sürdürülebilir büyümenin, bankacılık altyapısının ve hizmetlerinin genişletilmesiyle sağlanabileceği ifade edilmiştir. Finansal tabana yayılmanın toplumların kalkınmasının önemli bir belirleyicisi olduğu ayrıca anlatılmaya çalışılmıştır. Bu çalışma, Ekonomideki nihai çıktı düzeyini değişmez bir şekilde belirleyen sermayenin yanı sıra, TRC3 bölgesindeki ekonominin yeniden canlandırılması ve çeşitlendirilmesi için alternatif araçlar olarak finansal araç ve kaynakların daha fazla kullanılması gerektiğini önermektedir.
