Abstract
One of the vital and constantly changing fields regarding current issues in Islamic law is medicine and health-related issues. In this context, it is noteworthy that a study on medical interventions to the human genome and the use of CRISPR-Cas9 technology in this direction has not been studied until recently. Ülfet Görgülü’s work titled Intervention in the Human Genome: Ethical Discussions-Jurisprudential (Fiqhi) Approaches, appears to be a significant contribution to the field by being the first Turkish study on the subject. In this paper, it is aimed to examine the work in question, which deals with the individual and social effects of genetic interventions in the human genome for treatment, research, development and improvement purposes.
