SPECIAL EDUCATION TEACHERS' VIEW OF ONLINE EDUCATION DURING THE PANDEMIC PERIOD IN TÜRKIYE

Abstract

The aim of this research is to reveal the views of special education teachers on online education during the pandemic process. In this context, interviews were conducted with special education teachers using the phenomenology pattern. The data of the research was analyzed by using content analysis technique. According to the results of the research, most of the special education teachers think that online education is not suitable for special education. Special education teachers encounter problems in interpersonal relations in the online education process, try to cope with educational problems, and technological problems hinder their education processes. The special education teachers were caught unprepared for the online education process. Special education teachers state that the family has an effect on online education during the pandemic process. The majority of the special education teachers think that the online education process should continue after the pandemic. According to the last finding of the study, the special education teachers believe that the online education process can become more effective by providing training to families and teachers, adapting the technological tools.

PANDEMİ DÖNEMİNDE ÖZEL EĞİTİM ÖĞRETMENLERİNİN UZAKTAN EĞİTİME BAKIŞI

Abstract

Yardımcı teknolojiler; özel eğitim öğrencilerinin kimseye ihtiyaç duymayacak şekilde bağımsızlığını, yaşam standartlarını artırmak ve öğretimlerini bireyselleştirmek için kullanılan hizmetlerdendir (Reed ve Bowser, 2005). Yardımcı teknolojilere ihtiyacın artması; özel eğitim alanında geleneksel yöntemlerin kullanılması öğrencinin öğrendiklerini genelleyebilme ve bir çok konuda yetersiz kalmıştır. Zamanla da verilen eğitimin bireylerin gelişimine katkı sağlaması için; eğitim öğretimin etkililik ve verimliliğini artırabilmek için yardımcı teknolojilerin kullanımı da ortaya çıkmıştır. Böylece de teknolojiyi kullanarak öğrenciye; bilgiyi etkileşimli bir şekilde uygulama, kendini geliştirebilme fırsatı sunmuştur (Ohene-Djan ve Sen, 2007). Chang, Chen ve Huang (2011)’ e göre; öğrenci motivasyonlarını belirlemek, yeteneklerini geliştirmek, öğrenciye uygun yöntem teknikleri bulmak için etkililiği yüksek bir yöntemdir. Luo ve Lei (2012)’e göre; eğitim öğretim sürecinde dijital kullanımı, öğretmen öğrenci arasındaki verimli etkileşimin artırılmasına ek olarak; medya ve öğretim materyalleriyle olan etkileşimi de kolay hale getirmiştir. Günümüz eğitimini teknolojiden ayrı düşünmek mümkün değildir. Bu amaçla uzaktan eğitimden belki de en çok etkilenen alanlardan birisi olan özel eğitim alanının dikkate alınması gerekmektedir. Bu çerçevede olgu bilim deseni kullanılarak özel eğitim öğretmenleri ile görüşmeler yapılması planlanmaktadır. Araştırmanın verileri içerik analizi kullanılarak ele alınacaktır. Araştırmanın sonuçlarından yola çıkılarak özel eğitim öğretmenlerinin yaşadığı sorunlar çerçevesinde grup rehberliği programı planlanması amaçlanmaktadır. Araştırma süreci devam etmektedir.
