Sosyal Hizmette Çözüm Odaklı Yaklaşımın Şiddete Maruz Bırakılan Kadınlarda Kullanımı

Abstract

The Use Of Solution-Focused Approach In Social Work With Women Subjected To Violence

Abstract

The primary aim of this study is to examine the applicability and effectiveness of the solution-focused approach in social work interventions with women subjected to violence. The study aims to activate women's strengths, resources, and coping strategies to help them break free from the cycle of violence and achieve sustainable well-being. Additionally, the theoretical foundations of the solution-focused approach are analyzed in relation to the postmodern paradigm, empowerment, and person-centered perspectives to explore how it can guide women in building a safe, independent, and violence-free future within social work interventions.
The solution-focused approach emphasizes solutions and future-oriented outcomes rather than focusing on problems, pathology, or diagnoses. While incorporating specific techniques, it primarily relies on clients' ability to utilize their own resources and coping strategies. The approach shares intersecting features with other theories and methods used in social work, particularly through its foundations in the postmodern paradigm, empowerment perspective, and person-centered orientation.
A review of the literature reveals that the solution-focused approach has been applied effectively in trauma-related studies; however, its use in social work, particularly with women subjected to violence, is a relatively new area of inquiry. This study is expected to make a significant contribution to the national literature regarding the use of the solution-focused approach in social work interventions with women subjected to violence. Moreover, it is anticipated to raise awareness about the integration of this approach into field practices in women's studies. Evaluating the impact and effectiveness of the solution-focused approach through its implementation in social work field practices is strongly recommended.
