SANAT EĞİTİMİ ÖĞRENCİLERİNİN GEORGE ORWELL'IN 1984 ADLI YAPITI TEMELİNDE SANAT VE SANATÇILARIN DURUMLARINA İLİŞKİN GÖRÜŞLERİ

Abstract

Bu çalışmanın amacı güzel sanatlar eğitimi öğrencilerinin, sanatın ve sanatçıların durumunun George Orwell'in 1984 adlı yapıtında adı geçen "Büyük Birader"in istemleri yönünden incelenmesidir. Çalışma nitel olarak tasarlanmıştır. Veriler 43 öğrenciye sorulan açık uçlu soru formu uygulanarak elde edilmiştir. Verilerin analizinde içerik analizi yönteminden yararlanılmıştır. Araştırma sonucunda öğrenciler, Büyük Birader'in istemlerinin gerçekleştiği atmosferin sanat ve sanatçıların varlığına tehdit oluşturduklarını dile getirmişlerdir. Öğrenciler, bu atmosferin bireysel farklılıkları, düşünmeyi ve özgürlüğü tehdit ettiğini söylemişlerdir.

THE VIEWS OF ART STUDENTS ATTRIBUTED TO THE CONDITIONS OF ART AND ARTISTS ON THE BASIS OF 1984 BY GEORGE ORWELL

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to research the conditions of art and artist on the basis of the policies of Big Brother, who is the main character of the novel known as 1984 by George Orwell. The research has qualitative characteristics. The data was collected by open-ended questions asked to 43 fine art education students. The data was analyzed by the content analysis. In conclusion, according to the students, the Big Brother's demands are the threat to the existences of art and artists. The students expressed that this atmosphere threat individual differences, freedom of thoughts and liberty.
