Abstract

Bu makalede şu ana kadar hep gelişmiş ülkeler düzeyinde çalışılmış olan sol hükümetler ve sendikaların makro ekonomiye etkilerini gelişmekte olan bir ülke olan Türkiye örneğinde inceliyorum. 1965-2003 dönemine ait Türkiye kaynaklı verileri kullanarak yaptığım amprik analizlerde Türkiye’de sendikalaşmanın ve sol hükümetin birlikte yükseldiği dönemlerde diğer dönemlere göre daha düşük ekonomik büyüme ve daha yüksek enflasyon oranları gerçekleşmiştir. Bu sonuçlar bahsedilen makro ekonomik göstergelere yönelik önceki bulgu ve argümanlara (Alvarez, Garrett ve Lange 1991) destek vermemektedir. Türkiye örneğinde sendikalaşma ve sol hükümetler ile işşizlik arasında ise ciddi bir ilişki ortaya çıkmamıştır
