KİMYA LABORATUVAR UYGULAMALARININ ÖĞRENCİLERİN KİMYAYA YÖNELİK TUTUM VE BAŞARILARINA ETKİSİ ÜZERİNE BİR ÇALIŞMA

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, genel kimya dersini alan üniversite öğrencilerinin kimya dersine yönelik tutumları laboratuar dersini alan, almayan öğrenciler ve cinsiyet değişkenleri açısından incelenmiş, öğrencilerin kimya dersine karşı tutumları ile başarıları arasında ilişki olup olmadığı araştırılmıştır. Çalışmanın örneklemini Hacettepe Üniversitesi, Eğitim Fakültesinde okuyan toplam 99 öğrenci oluşturmaktadır. Bu öğrencilerin 47’si sadece Genel Kimya II dersini alan öğrenciler (I. Grup), diğer 52 öğrenci de Genel Kimya II ve Genel Kimya Laboratuarı II derslerini birlikte alan öğrencilerdir (II. Grup). Çalışmadaki veriler Geban, Ertepınar, Yılmaz, Altan ve Şahbaz (1994) tarafından geliştirilen Kimya Dersi Tutum Ölçeği ve öğrencilerin Genel Kimya II dersinden aldıkları ara sınav ve dönem sonu notları ile toplanmıştır. Yapılan çalışma sonucunda öğrencilerin kimya dersine yönelik tutumları, ders ve laboratuarı birlikte alan II. Grup lehine olup anlamlı farklılık göstermektedir (X 1. Grup= 43,36, X 2. Grup= 61,65 p < 0,05). Öğrencilerin kimya dersine yönelik tutumları cinsiyet açısından incelendiğinde kız öğrenciler lehine anlamlı farklılık gözlenmiştir (XKız= 56,54, XErkek= 49,16 p < 0,05). Öğrencilerin kimya dersine yönelik tutumları ile kimya dersindeki başarıları arasında düşük düzeyde bir ilişki tespit edilmiştir (r=0,24, p < 0,05)
