Abstract

Tourism plays a key role in decreasing unemployment figures as well as foreign trade deficits in by drawing foreign currency into the countries in times of economic crisis. At the same time, this kind of service sector creates new jobs and thus prevents unemployment. Total sales effects directly the employment in this sector and of course it indirectly effects the income in other sectors. It is of vital importance for the development of tourism in a country to employ people who have the necessary knowledge and skills in this area. The main aim of this study is to expose the place and importance of tourism and the working conditions in this sector. The literature review method was applied in this study.

Abstract

Turizm, ülkelerin ekonomik sıkıntılar yaşadığı dönemlerde büyük bir döviz girdisi sağlayarak, dış ticaret açıklarının ve işsizliğin azaltılmasında kilit rol oynamaktadır. Aynı zamanda emek-yoğun özelliği, istihdamı artırıcı bir rol oynayarak, işsizliğin önlenmesinde kurtarıcı durumundadır. Turizm sektörüne giren tüm gelir, turizm sektöründe istihdamı doğrudan, diğer sektörlerdeki istihdamı ise dolaylı olarak etkilemektedir. İnsanların turizm alanında istihdam edilmesi ve bunun için gerekli bilgi ve becerilere sahip olmaları, ülke turizminin gelişimi açısından oldukça önemlidir. Bu çalışmanın temel amacı, turizmin istihdam açısından yeri ve önemini ile sektördeki çalışma durumunu ortaya koymaktır. Çalışmada literatür taraması yöntemi kullanılmıştır.
