The purpose of this study is to integrate myths into geography education, which are used in many areas such as movies, series,
comic books and computer games, and which attract people’s attention. For this reason, Turkish, Greco-Roman, Egyptian, and
Scandinavian mythologies were analyzed and
mythical examples related to geography were determined to realize the purpose
of this research study. Furthermore, it was attempted to show that geography lessons can be carried out more effectively and
interestingly by using these examples. Document analysis, a qualitative
research method, was
used in the present study. In order to encourage the use of myths in geography education, suggestions are made for future studies.
