Peer Review Process

Peer Review and Publication Process
A study that passes the field editor's review is submitted for evaluation by at least two referees who have a doctoral dissertation, book, or article on the subject. The referee process is conducted confidentially within the framework of a double-blind peer review system. Referees are requested to provide their opinions and evaluations either directly on the text or through an online referee form with a justification of at least 150 words.

If the author does not agree with the referee’s opinions, they are given the right to appeal and defend their views. The field editor ensures communication between the author and the referee while maintaining confidentiality. If both referee reports are positive, the study is submitted to the Editorial Board for consideration for publication. If one of the two referees provides a negative opinion, the study is sent to a third referee. This number may be increased if deemed necessary. Studies can only be published with at least two positive referee decisions.

Translation Articles: These are sent to language and field experts to be evaluated in terms of fidelity to the original text, the correct use of domain-specific terminology, and language quality. Translations that receive negative opinions from experts are not published.

Book and Symposium Reviews, Doctoral Dissertation Abstracts: The decision to publish is made based on the evaluation of the relevant field editors.

Correction Phase
If the referees request corrections in the text, the relevant reports are sent to the author, who is asked to revise the study. Corrections must be completed within 10 days. The author submits the revised text to the field editor, highlighting changes in red.

Field Editor Review
The field editor checks whether the author has made the requested corrections. This process must be completed within 15 days.

Turkish Language Check
Studies that pass the peer-review process are examined by the Turkish Language Editor, who may request further corrections if necessary. This process must be completed within 15 days.

English Language Check
Following the Turkish language check, the English Language Editor reviews the study. If necessary, further corrections are requested from the author. This process is also to be completed within 15 days.

Editorial Board Review
After technical, academic, and linguistic evaluations, the article is reviewed by the Editorial Board, which makes the final decision regarding publication. If there is any objection from board members, the decision is made by majority vote.

Typesetting and Layout Stage
Studies approved for publication by the Editorial Board are typeset and formatted for publication.

Final Proofreading
Once typesetting is complete, the final proofreading is done, after which the study is published in the journal.
