HİPERTANSİYONLU HASTALARDA ERİTROSİT İÇİ ANTİOKSİDAN ENZİM VE SERUM MALONDİALDEHİT DÜZEYLERİNİN ARAŞTIRILMASI

Abstract

Serbest oksijen radikalleri veya reaktif oksijen türleri (ROS), hipertansiyonun patogenezinde rolü olduğuna inanılan ve endojen olarak vücutta sentez edilen metabolik yan ürünlerdir. Bu ürünler sentez edildikleri yerde hemen detoksifiye edilmezlerse zararlı etki oluşturabilirler. Son çalışmalarda hipertansiyonun, kardiyovasküler hastalıkların gelişiminde rol oynayan oksijen kaynaklı serbest radikallerin oluşumuna yol açtığı belirtilmektedir. Bu çalışmada 25’i erkek, 20’si kadın olmak toplam 45 esansiyel hipertansiyonlu hasta incelendi. Kontrol grubu tamamen sağlıklı 23’ü kadın, 22’si erkek toplam 45 kişiden oluşturuldu. Eritrosit örneklerinde süperoksit dismutaz (SOD), glutatyon peroksidaz (GSH-PX), katalaz (CAT) ve serumda malondialdehit (MDA) seviyeleri ölçüldü ve istatistiksel olarak karşılaştırıldı. Hipertansif hastalar kontrol grubu ile karşılaştırıldığında, eritrosit içi SOD, GSH-PX ve CAT değerlerinin hipertansif hastalarda anlamlı biçimde düşük olduğu (p<0.05) gösterildi. Serum MDA değeri ise hipertansiyon grubunda anlamlı biçimde daha yüksekti (p<0.001). Bu verilerle hipertansif hastalarda serbest radikal hasarına karşı koruyucu bir özellik sergileyen antioksidan enzim sistemlerinin normalden daha düşük olduğu, serbest oksijen radikallerinin artığı, bu nedenlerle bu hastaların ciddi bir oksidatif stresle karşı karşıya oldukları ve dolaylı olarak da, bu sistemleri düzeltici girişimlerin hipertansiyonun önlenmesinde etkili olabileceği sonuçlarına varıldı

The Investigation of Serum Malondialdehyde Levels and Erythrocyte Antioxidant Enzymes in Hypertension Patients

Abstract

Free oxygen radicals, produced endogenically through body metabolism play a role in the pathogenesis of hypertension. They have detrimental effects unless they are detoxified. Recent studies have demonstrated their role in cardiovascular diseases. This study included 45 essential hypertension patients (25 males, 20 females) and 45 healthy controls (22 males, 23 females). The levels of serum malondialdehyde (MDA) and erythrocyte’s superoxide dismutase (SOD), glutathione peroxidase (GSH-PX) and catalase (CAT) enzymes were all determined and statistically assessed. Erythrocytes levels of SOD, GSH-PX and CAT were statistically decreased (p<0.05) whereas serum level of MDA was statistically increased (p<0.001) The data demonstrated that the levels of antioxidant enzymes systems in hypertensive patients which have protective properties against the damaging effects of free radicals were reduced and therefore such patients are faced with a serious oxidative stress. It was concluded that interventions intended to regulate there antioxidant enzymes systems might be effective in preventing hypertension
