ALT SOLUNUM YOLU İNFEKSİYONU OLAN ÇOCUKLARIN NAZOTRAKEAL ASPİRAT ÖRNEKLERİNDE SOLUNUM SİNSİTYAL VİRÜS’ÜN İZOLASYONU

Abstract

Solunum sinsityal virüs (Respiratory syncytial virus, RSV), bebek ve küçük çocuklarda alt solunum yolu infeksiyonuna yol açan etkenlerden en önemlisidir. Bu çalışmada alt solunum yolu infeksiyonu olan çocuklarda RSV’nin hücre kültürüyle izolasyonu amaçlandı. Çalışmaya alt solunum yolu infeksiyonu olan, yaşları 0-24 ay arasında değişen 80 hastadan alınan nazotrakeal aspirat örneği dahil edildi. RSV’nin izolasyonu için Hep-2 hücre kültürü kullanıldı. On gün süreyle RSV’ye karakteristik sitopatik etki takip edildi. Hücre kültürü örneklerindeki RSV antijeni Direkt Floresan Antikor (DFA) yöntemiyle araştırıldı. Çalışmaya dahil edilen 80 örneğin 17 (% 21.3)’sinde hücre kültürü yöntemiyle sitopatik etki gözlendi ve DFA ile RSV antijeni pozitif bulundu. Sonuç olarak; RSV’nin izolasyonunda sitopatik etki gözlenen hücre kültürlerinde DFA yöntemiyle RSV antijeni araştırabileceği kanaatine varıldı

Isolation of Respiratory Syncytial Virus in Nasotracheal Aspirate Specimens of Children with Respiratory Tract Infection

Abstract

Respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) is the major viral agent of lower respiratory tract infection in infants and children. The aim of this study is to isolate RSV by cell culture in children with respiratory tract infection. Nasotracheal aspirate specimens collected from 80 hospitalized patients with respiratory tract infection aged between 0-24 months were included in the study. Hep-2 cell culture was used for RSV isolation. RSV antigen was investigated in cell culture specimens by Direct Fluorescence Antibody (DFA) test,. Cytophatic effect (CPE) of RSV was found positive in 17 (% 21.3) of 80 samples by cell culture, and RSV antigen was found positive by DFA in these samples
