TOXOPLASMA GONDII POZİTİF BİREYLERDE İLERİ PROTEİN OKSİDASYON ÜRÜNÜ DÜZEYLERİNİN DEĞERLENDİRİLMESİ

Abstract

Toxoplasma gondii enfeksiyonu tüm dünyada yaygın bir zoonozdur. Gebelik sırasında enfeksiyonu alan kadınların çocuklarında konjenital enfeksiyona yol açabilir. Oksidatif stres, oksidan üretimi ile antioksidan korunma arasındaki dengesizlik nedeniyle ortaya çıkar ve organizmada yapısal hasarla sonuçlanabilir. Bu çalışmada, Toxoplasma gondii ile enfekte bireylerde protein oksidasyonun amaçlanmıştır. Çalışma gruplarını oluşturan hasta (Toxoplasma gondii200 pozitif), [22 gebe IgG (+) ve Ig M (+) ve 27 gebe IgG (+) ve Ig M (-)]) ve 30 kontrol bireyler IgG (-) ve Ig M (-) ileri protein oksidasyon ürünü açısından incelenmiştir. İleri oksidasyon protein ürünü düzeylerinde özellikle IgG (+) ve IgM (+) pozitif grupta kontrol grubuna göre numerik olarak artış tespit edilirken, kontrol grubu ile her iki hasta grubu arasında istatistiksel olarak bir farklılık gözlenmemiştir (p > 0.05). Buna karşın hasta grupları arasındaki farklılık istatistiksel olarak önemli bulunmuştur (p < 0.020). Sonuç olarak bu çalışma ile ilk kez toxoplasmosis sonucu organizmada oluşabilecek protein harabiyetinin derecesi hakkında veriler elde edilmiş olup, özellikle gebelik durumunda uygulanacak tedavinin nitel ve nicel olarak yönlendirilmesi aşamasında elde edilen sonuçların faydalı olabileceği düşünülmektedir

Assessment of Advanced Oxidation Protein Product in Toxoplasma Gondii Positive Individuals

Abstract

Toxoplasma gondii infection is a common zoonose found all over the world. In women during pregnancy it can lead to congenital infection of their children. Oxidative stress occurs due to imbalance between the production of oxidant and antioxidant protection and can result in structural damages in the organism. In this study, we aimed to investigate free radical formation and protein oxidation in Toxoplasma gondii infected individuals.Working groups that make up the patients (Toxoplasma gondii positive), [22 pregnant IgG (+) and Ig M (+) and 27 pregnant IgG (+) and Ig M ()]) and 30 control individuals IgG (-) and Ig M (-) were investigated in terms of the protein oxidation. Advanced oxidation protein product levels especially in IgG (+)/IgM (+) group was found to be quantitatively increased comparing to control group, however, there is no statistically significant difference between the patient group and control group (p > 0.05). However, there was a statistical significant difference observed between two patients groups (p <0.020). These results will provide, for the first time, some more information relating to the degree of protein oxidation as a result of parasite infection, and accordingly, it would also be useful to give direction to the treatment in qualitative and quantitative degrees in pregnancies
