KRONİK HASTALIĞI OLAN ÇOCUKLARIN ANNELERİNİN BAKIM YÜKÜ

Abstract

oranlarının artması ile bu çocuklara bakım verenlerinyaşadıkları güçlükler ve algıladıkları bakım yükününbelirlenmesi önem kazanmıştır. Bu çalışma, kronikhastalığı olan çocuklara bakım veren annelerin bakımyükünü belirlemek amacıyla tanımlayıcı olarak yapılmıştır.Çalışmaya bir üniversite hastanesinin Pediatrik Nöroloji,Endokrinoloji ve Nefroloji poliklinik ve kliniklerindeepilepsi, diabetes mellitus (DM) ve kronik böbrekyetmezliği (KBY) tanısı ile izlenen 7-18 yaş grubu çocuğuolan 73 anne (epilepsi= 26, DM= 26, KBY= 21) alınmıştır.Veriler; anket formu ve Bakım Verenlerin Yükü Envanteriile toplanmıştır. Veriler; Ki-kare, Student-t, Kruskal-Wallisve Çalışmada, annelerin yaş ortalamalarının 38.16±6.13 yıl ve çocukların hastalık sürelerinin 4.98±3.40 yıl (114) olduğu saptanmıştır. DM’li çocuğu olan annelerinbakım yükü ölçeğinin zaman-bağımlılık, gelişimsel, fiziksel,sosyal ve emosyonel yük alt ölçekleri ile toplam ölçek puanortalamalarının yüksek olduğu belirlenmiştir (p<0.05).Hasta çocuğun yaşı, çocukta başka sağlık sorunu olması,annenin yaşı, annede sağlık sorunu gelişmesi, ekonomikgüçlük yaşama ve hasta çocuk dışında birine bakım vermedurumunda algılanan bakım yükünün arttığı belirlenmiştir(p<0.05).annelerin algıladıkları bakım yükünün yüksek olduğubelirlenmiştir. Bu sonuçlara göre, annelere hasta çocuğuntedavi ve bakımında destek olunması önerilmiştir

The Burden of Care in The Mothers of The Children With Chronic Disease

Abstract

It is important to determine the perceivedburden of care and the difficulties facing caregivers of thechildren with chronic disease because of the increase in itsincidence in childhood. This descriptive study wasconducted to determine the burden of care experienced bythe mothers of children with chronic disease. The studysample consisted of the mothers (n=73) of 7-18 years oldchildren with epilepsy, diabetes mellitus (DM) and chronicrenal failure (CRF) (epilepsy=26, DM=26, CRF=21)followed up in Pediatric Neurology, Endocrinology andNephrology clinics of a university hospital. The data wascollected with a questionnaire form and Caregiver BurdenInventory. For the analysis of data; Chi-square, Student-t,Kruskal-Wallis and Mann-Witney U tests were used. It wasdetermined that the mean age of the mothers was38.16±6.13 years , and the duration of the child'sdisease was 4.98±3.40 years . The mean scores ofburden of time-dependency, developmental, physical,social and emotional subscales of burden inventory andtotal scale of the mothers of children with DM were high(p<0.05). It was detected that perceived burden of carewas affected by the presence of other health problems andthe age of the child with chronic disease, their healthproblems and the age of the mothers, economic difficultiesand giving care to another person except the child withchronic disease (p<0.05). The perceived burden of careexperienced by the mothers of children with chronicdisease was high. In conclusion, it is recommended thatthe support should be given to the mothers in the treatmentand care of their children
