FİZİKSEL AKTİVİTE VE EPİLEPSİ

Year 2011, Volume: 20 Issue: 1, 77 - 81, 01.03.2011

Abstract

Physical Activity and Epilepsy

Year 2011, Volume: 20 Issue: 1, 77 - 81, 01.03.2011

Abstract

Most people participate in physical activity on a regular basis. However, among the many patients with epilepsy, few incorporate physical activity into their daily routine. It is because of parental or physician restriction, the fact remains that patients with epilepsy are less fit and do not get the exercise they need. Patients with seizure have been discouraged from participating in physical activity and sports due to the fear that it will exacerbate their seizure. However, this overprotective attitude has been changing in light of the recent literatüre on this subject. This review discusses benefits of physical activity in epileptics and the effects of exercise on seizure
