SINIF V KAVİTELERDE AKIŞKAN LİNER UYGULANMASININ MİKROSIZINTI ÜZERİNE ETKİSİ

Year 2017, Volume: 26 Issue: 3, 216 - 222, 01.12.2017

Abstract

The Effect of Flowable Composite Liner Application on Microleakage in Class V Cavities

Year 2017, Volume: 26 Issue: 3, 216 - 222, 01.12.2017

Abstract

Aim:To investigate the effects of flowable composite liner application on microleakage in class V cavities. Material and Method: Standard Class V cavities were prepared using extracted non-carious 84 human premolars after the surface was cleaned. Then the teeth were divided into two main groups according to whether to apply a flowable composite liner on the cavity bottom, and also they were divided into three subgroups according to adhesive materials used. After the composite restorations were completed, the teeth were stored at 37 °C and 100% humidified atmosphere for 24 hours. Then, bucco-lingual sections were received, dye penetration in occlusal and gingival walls were steriomicroscopy. The data were analyzed statistically. Results: It was found that the microleakage observed on gingival margins were statistically more than coronal margins (p<0,05), no significantly difference was observed in microleakage between groups with and without flowable composite liner ( p>0.05). Conclusion: Application of a thin layer flowable composite resin that was placed to the base of class V cavities was not useful on microleakage
