POPÜLİST POST-TRUTH SİYASETE ETİK KURAMLAR PERSPEKTİFİNDEN BAKMAK

Abstract

Bu makale günümüzde yaygınlaşan popülist siyaset ve post-truth sahnesini etik ve ahlakın merceğinden incelemeyi amaçlamaktadır. Çalışmada genel anlamda farklı etik kuramların değerlerinin popülist siyasetin değerleriyle taban tabana karşıt olduğu tespit edildi. Bir başka tespit popülizmin değer dahi taşımadığı ve farklı değerleri savunur gibi yapıp aslında salt bir çıkarcılığın peşinden gittiğinin saptanmasıdır. Bu anlamda popülizmin tercih ettiği etik kılavuzlardan bir tanesi Faydacılık akımıdır. Faydacılık akımı Eylem ve Kuralcı Faydacılık şeklinde ikiye ayrılır. Eylem Faydacılık aslında mümkün olan en fazla insanın mutluluğu prensibini benimserken eşitlik ve adalete vurgu yapıyormuş gibi dursa da sonuca giden yolları dikkate almayarak neredeyse en mühim etik kriteri ihlal etmiştir. Popülizm ve post-truth sahnesi de bu yumuşak karnı kendisine örnek almıştır. Kuralcı Faydacılıkta ise sonuca giden yolların etik anlamda kurgulanması kaygısı vardır. Sonuç olarak etik kuramlarının neredeyse tamamına yakınının popülist oportünizm ile uyuşmadığını iddia etmek mümkündür. Bu araştırma nitel bir yaklaşımla literatür taraması üzerine inşa edilmiş betimsel ve karşılaştırmalı tarih yöntemi kullanılmıştır

Abstract

This article aims to weigh today's populist politics and its post-truth scene on the scales of ethical theories. The study discovers that in general the values adopted by different ethical theories are diametrically opposite to the values adopted by populist politics. Another discovery is that populist politics does not carry any value at all but just pretend that it defends some values while actually it runs after pure opportunity and calculation. In this respect one of the populism’s ethical guides is utilitarianism. There ara two derivatives of Utilitarianism. Act Utilitarianism and Rule Utilitarianism. Theory of Act Utilitarianism pretends that it desires highest happinest for highest possible number of people but actually it ignores a crucial ethical criteria: Which means are utilised to reach ends. This ethical weakness of act utilitarianism is well exploited by populist politics and its post-truth scene. By contrast, In Rule Utilitarian theory, there is a care about the means utilized to reach ends As a result it is possible to claim that almost all ethical theories are incompatible with populist opportunism and post-truth disvalues. This research uses a descriptive and comparative historical research method built upon litterature review with a qualitative approach.
