Biological Observations with Some Turkish Ticks and Tick-Born Diseases Transmitted by the Ticks

Öz

The tıcks collected from various provinces of Turkey were
identified as Rhipicephalus bursa, R. sanguineus, ixodes ncmus,
Haeınaphysalis otophila, H. punctata, H. sulcata, Dennocentor
margfnatus, D. niveus, Boophilus caloaratus, Hyalomma excavatum,
H. marginatum, Ornithodos lahorensis.
Biological observations with i. ricinus, H. otophila, D. marginatus,
R. bursa, B. calcaratus, H. excavatum; under the laboratory
condition at 26°C, and % 90 R.H. and maturation periods from
eggs to adult were noted.
. The tıcks were engourged on ears of the experimental animaL
Rabbits were used for larva! stages of the tıcks, and sheep and
calves were used for nymphal and adult stages of the ticks.
The number of total eggs produced by the female of D. marginatus
were 5560. By experimental engourment with. B. calcaratus
paralysis and some deaths of rabbits were observed but the smears
from the blood and the organs of rabbits were negatives for
tıck-bom disease.
İt is found that the maturation periods 81 days for R. bursa,
75-80 dasy for D. marginatus, 54 days for B. calcaratus, 140 days
for H. excavatum.
İt was experimentally indkated that D. marginatus is a carrier
of Anaplasma ovis in a sheep and Anaplasma marginale in a calf
and R .. bursa is a carrier of Theileria ovis ın a sheep.

Yurdumuzda Görülen Kene Türlerinden Bazılarının Biyolojisi ve Naklettikleri Protozoon Hastalıklar Üzerinde

Öz

Türkiye'nin muhtelif bögelerinden temin edilen kene numuneleri
identifikasyona tabi tutulmuş ve aşağıdaki neviler tespit edilmiştir:
Rhipicephalus bursa, R. sanguineus, İxodes ricinus, Haemaphysalis
otophila, H. punctata, H. sulcata, Dennocentor marginatus,
D; niveus, Boophilus calcaratus, Hyalomına excavatum, H.
marginatus, Ornitodoros lahorensis.
Doymuş dişiler laboratuvar şartlarında (26oC ve % 90 rutubetli
etüv) üretilerek biyolojik durumları tetkik edilmiştir . Keneler
larva safhasında tavşanlann, nymph ve olgun safhada da koyun ve
dana'nın kulağında beslenmiştir. Dişi Dennocentor marginatus'un
5560 cı.det yumurdadığı görülmüştür.
İxodes ricinus ve H. otophila da nymph safhası elde edilememiştir.
Boohilus calcaratus'un beslenme anında · tavşanlarda felç
ve ölümler meydana getirmiştir. Kan ve organdan yapılan frotiler
menfi bulunmuştur. ·
Kenelerin olgunlaşma süreleri, R. bursa da 81, D. marginatusta
75-80, B. calcaratus'ta 54, H. excavatum'da 140 gün olarak tespit
edilmiştir.
Bu çalışmalarda Dermocentor ınarginatus'un koyuna Anaplasına
ovis, danaya Anaplasına marginala; Rhipicephalus bursa'nın
koyuna Theileria ovis naklettiğini tespit ettik.
