Öz

Bu çalışmada Bursa bölgesindeki bir at yetiştirme çiftliğinde
piyogranulomatöz pnömoniden ölen bir tayın akciğerleri mikrobiyolojik olarak
incelendi. Rhodococcus equi, akciğerlerdeki lezyonlu bölgelerden saf kültür
şeklinde izole edildi . R.equi infeksiyonuna bağlı ölüm sporadik bir vaka olarak
değerlendirildi. Bu vaka raponu, Türkiye'de ilk defa bir tay da saptanan R.equi
infeksiyonunu tanımlamaktadır.

Rhodococcus equi infection in a foal

Öz

In this study, the lungs ofa foal died from pyogranulomatous pneumonia on
a horse breeding farın in Bursa in north western Turkey were examined
microbiologically. Rhodococcus equi was isoleted in pure culture from region
with lesion of lungs. The death due to R.equi infection was considered as a
sporadic case. This case report is the fırst description of R.equi infection in a
foal in Turkey.
