Türkiye’de Sığır Tüberkülozu Enfeksiyonun Epidemiyolojik Sorunları ve Çözüm Analizi

Abstract

Year 2021, Volume: 32 Issue: 2, 169 - 177, 30.12.2021

Abstract

Bovine Tuberculosis (bTB) in Turkey follows an endemic course in cattle herds. Until today, the expected results due to various reasons could not be obtained from the studies carried out aim to fight the disease. The number of Bovine Tuberculosis foci has continually increased in recent years. This circumstance has caused an increase in the risk of animal health and public health in our country as well as the loss of breeding animals and socio-economic loss. In this study, the issues that caused this increase in the field were evaluated epidemiologically. In addition, it is aimed to guide policy-making process in fighting the disease and contribute to development of existing national control strategy by offering suggestions, making solutions analysis in the light of the obtained information to detected problems. Considering the nature of Bovine Tuberculosis disease and the conditions of Turkey, it has been understood that the fight to reduce the prevalence of the disease will be difficult and costly. As a result of this study, it has been concluded that the success can be achieved by reorganizing veterinary services structure, which will only focus on this subject, by reducing the incidence of the disease with a long term and patiently work in cooperation with all stakeholders as well as by creating gradual free zones.
