Sereproevalance of leptospirosis in horses

Abstract

In this study, serum samples fn;ım 140 11orses in Bursa. a city
in north westerm Turkey, were examin'ed by the Microscopic Agglutination
Test (MAT) for the presence of aiıtibody against Leptospira interrogans
serovars pomona, canicola, icterohaemorrhagiae and hardjo.
A titre of l/100 or higher was cansidered positive by MAT. Of the
samples examined, ll (7 .85%} were positive against only L.icterohaemorrhagiae.
Of the positive samples, 9 had titers of 1/100, 1 had titre
of 1/200, 1 had titre of 1/400. There was no sfatistically significant
difference in the prevciıence rate between.male and female.

Abstract

Bu çalışmada, Bursa bölgesindeki 140 at'a ait serum örnekleri.
Mikroskobik Aglutinasyon Test (MAT) ile·Leptospira interrogans serotip
pomona, canicola, icterohaemorrhagiae ve hordjo'ya karşı antikor
mevcudiyeti yönünden incelendi. MAT için, ı ll 00 ve yukarı titreler
pozitif kabul edildi. İncelenen örneklerin. ı l'i (% 7,85) sadece L.icterohaemorrhagiae
ile pozitif reaksiyon verdi. Pozitif örneklerin 9'u
1 /100, 1'i 1/200, 1 'i 1/400 titreye sahipti. Prevalans oranı bakımından
erkekler ile dişiler arasında istatistiki olarak önemli bir fark saptanmadı.
