Kontagiyöz equine metritis (CEM), Taylorella equigenitalis’in neden olduğu, atların oldukça bulaşıcı, venereal
bir enfeksiyonudur. Hastalık bulguları sadece dişi atlarda görülürken, erkek atlarda herhangi bir patolojik bulgu gözlenmez.
CEM, endometritis, servisitis, vajinitis ve geçici infertilite sonucu at yetiştiriciliğinde önemli ekonomik kayıplara
neden olmaktadır.

Öz

Contagious equine metritis (CEM) is a highly contagious, venereal infection of horses caused by Taylorella
equigenitalis. Symptoms of the disease are only seen in mares. Stallions do not exhibit any pathological findings.
CEM causes economic loss in horse breeding by endometritis, cervicitis, vaginitis and temporary infertility.
