Türk dillerinin en eski hâllerinden biri
olan yönelme-e hâlini yönelme hâlın ekine göre gelişmiş türü
adlandırılır. Eski Türk yazılı anıtlarında -rı, -ri, -ra, -ar, -är -ğaru,
-karu, -aru, -erü ekleri ile ifade olunan yönelme-e hâli Türk dillerinin
eski dönem yazıları için karakteristik olan yönelme hâla benzese de, ondan
farklıdır. Öncelikle yön hâlinin özel eki (-ğaru, -gerü) olmuştur.
İstikamet hâlında olan isimler sadece hareket fiilleri ile yönetilmiştir.
Yönelme hâl eki tüm isimlere, istikamet hâlinin eki mekan anlamlı isimlere
artırılmıştır. Bu hâlın semantik açıdan diğer fiillerle yok, sadece hareket
bildiren fiillerle yönetilmesi hareketin yönünü bildirmesiyle ilgili olarak
kabul edilir. Araştırmalar, kanıtlıyor ki, -ğaru, -gerü ekleri eski
yönelme hâl eki -ğa, ge, -ga, -ge, -ka, -ke ile yine yön, istikamet
bildiren -ra, -ru eski yönelme hâl ekinden oluşmuştur.
