Bu yazıda, antropolog Nancy Lindisfarne’ın “Şam’da Raks” kitabının ilk
öyküsü olan “Kaplumbağa”dan yola çıkarak, Türkiye’de kadının ev içi emek süreci
değerlendirilmiştir. Suriye’de yaşayan bir kadının öyküsünden esinle, tarihsel bir
perspektiften günümüzde Türkiye’deki durum tartışılmaktadır.
This study evaluates the present situation of the process of woman’s domestic labor
in Turkey, which has become an important issue in recent years. This article was inspired
by the work of Nancy Lindisfarne, Şam’da Raks, the story of “Kaplumbağa” (Turtoise).
The process of woman’s domestic labor in Turkey has been discussed in this article
through this significant story of Lindisfarne, which was based on her ethnographic study
in Damascus.
