According to Mustafa Sekip Tunç, the knowing of man and conceptualizing the image of man as real as possible can be contrived in a holistic perspective. The reason is that the human being can never be defined or understood from the point of a single discipline. In his opinion, our material and spiritual beings complete each other and any one of them is incomplete or meaningless without the other. Therefore, to understand man is something that can neither be realized by biology or physiology nor by psychology or sociology alone. It is only a holistic philosophical approach based on the whole disciplines investigating man and his cultural doings that can give us the representation of man. Otherwise, the ideologies that reduce man to the level of only one discipline or element would be insufficient. Mustafa Sekip has been in the effort of realizing the idea of that complete man all over his life of contemplation.
