The Perception Of Space In The Novel “Matmazel Noraliya’nın Koltuğu”

Abstract

In the examination of expression texts, the space is not a decor in which the event is happened or is not a fictive element used for bringing reality to the event. Besides it comes across with a more functional structure. In the tales and novels space has an important place for tecnical editings such as time, event and personalstaff of texts as far as the thematic editing. Space examinations can be done by evaluating the sensorial spaces that shaped according to the phsicological status of human beings and envirenmental spaces that are used for creating and atmosphere and bringing reality to the event. Especially in the novel “Matmazel Norali’yanın Koltuğu” the sensorial spaces come forward and it is a novel in which the space gains personality-identity and transforms to the novel person and it is a novel in which human and space identification is intensively examined. The spiritual conflict of the main character in the novel, in which the time transforms to an impression elemet, is handled over the space and the confict between two different opinion worlds is given by two opposite spaces. In this study, the consept of space is emphasized, the space images in the novel “Matmazel Norali’yanın Koltuğu” are tried to be analyzed and the function of space in expression texts is evaluated. Thus, in colloboration with the space; the existence and time subjects are examined and finding a way for new studies is aimed.
