In order to examine the effects of Strawberry
latent ring spot virus (SLRSV) infection on certain fruit quality
characteristics, the fruits from SLRSV infected and non-infected olive trees
were analyzed and compared with a trial which was performed in olive
plantations. The characteristics such as fruit yield per tree, fruit weight and
volume were considered in the trial. According to the results of pomological
analysis, it was found to be statistically significant differences between
non-infected and infected orchards from the stand point of fruit yield per
tree, fruit weight and volume. It was determined that the values of mentioned
fruit properties were lower in virus- infected trees in comparison to
non-infected trees.
