IDLENESS, TEMPORALITY AND AGING
Abstract
In this article, I will deal with the philosophical concepts ‘being on the
way to’ and ‘homesickness’ from a phenomenological point of view. I will try to
show that the temporality of this philosophy of intentionality and claim that
the wandering of Socrates is a sort of idleness which is to be interpreted from
this temporal point of view. In support of my hypothesis, I will try to
demonstrate the temporal sense of the Socratic sophia which is viewed as
atopia. To conclude, I will claim that Socratic search for wisdom, that is sophia,
signify the wit of aging.
