THE PROBLEM OF TEACHER QUALITY: A PHILOSOPHICAL PERSPECTIVE

Abstract

The quality of teachers and their role in education is one of the most popular concerns discussed in developing and developed countries. Teachers not only help students to increase their academic achievement, but also attain selfactualization and be authentic. The purpose of this theoretical study is to evaluate this topic through the thought and principles of Plato, Yunus Emre, Erich Fromm and Paulo Freire. Teachers should recognise their real selves and be good model for students. In education, all the walls should be broken down between teachers and students by means of love. Teachers and students are the one not the others
